This is part of a series on the BBW, a topic found to be "too big" to fit in any one forum. The BBW will be explored from different angles in different forums.

Should men with Asperger's syndrome consider dating BBWs? Are women with Asperger's syndrome more likely to be BBWs themselves? Anecdotally, roughly half the women I've met in person with AS are overweight. Also, for men with AS, the population of women who are overweight are more likely to be single and possibly desperate too.

What does BBW stand for?

One should consider dating a bbw, as you call it, if one really likes her. Full stop.

I don't like the stereotype you're creating/supporting that larger women* are more likely to be single and desperate. From my experience that is not the case. Even if they were, why would one want to date someone who only wants to be in a relationship with you because they're desperate? Doesn't seem like the foundation for a healthy, rewarding relationship.

Also I have not noticed a larger number of women* on the spectrum being overweight compared to the allistics.

I honestly don't find obese girls attractive and settling won't make me happy. By obese, I don't mean the cute and chubby girl with 25 lbs worth of excess fat, but a girl who's so fat it ruins her figure.

I definitely seem to fancy chubbier/fatter women more than regular or slimmer women, but that's not always the case.

To each their own. I'm thin and always have been. Never really tried to diet except a few times to lose five or ten lbs, but never stuck to it and I'd lose them in a couple of months anyway because of my metabolism. I've never cared for heavy men. I've never cared for skinny men either. I've always liked my guys to be well built and muscular, but I don't require bodybuilders, although they are nice!

My older daughter is thin like me and has my metabolism. My younger daughter is overweight and has my MIL's metabolism. She tries to lose, but it's difficult, but she's hardly desperate! She has no problem finding a bf, and wouldn't ever want to be with a guy who thought he was "settling" with her, and certainly not one who had to settle for less than his ideal because of some problem he has. She's never gone out with heavier guys though. I don't know what she thinks about them, she's never told me. Even though she's pretty big (not reality show big, maybe 225 but she's also got boobs and a butt) she's pretty, she's popular, she's fun to be around, she has lots of friends and she certainly does not have to just "take what she can get".

My older daughter has been with her bf for five years. He's tall and well built, but he's gotten kind of chunky before. He put on some weight for about a year, and now he's lost it again and they go running and bike riding together.

Neither of my girls would choose or reject a guy because of weight. However, that doesn't mean that they, like everyone else, don't have a preference for body type.

My oldest son is with a heavy girl. She's also crazy and covered in tattoos. When I say crazy I mean truly seriously mentally ill crazy. She's also not very pretty although when I first met her I thought she had a nice personality. Everybody says he can do better, and he can, and by that I don't mean her weight or looks, (although some do, he's very handsome) I mean her craziness.

My younger son doesn't like heavy girls at all. That's just his preference.

I have a friend my age who is a single guy who absolutely hates girls who are under 200 lbs. He's a big guy himself. A One Percenter. He thinks skinny women look terrible. That's his prerogative and he certainly doesn't feel that he's settling if he dates a big girl.

So, to each their own.

Don't assume that heavy girls will date anybody and be grateful just because they are heavy. My younger daughter is very picky and can certainly affford to be, even though she is heavy. She is asked out as much as my older, thin daughter was before she had a steady bf.

Maybe we should start a thread on skinny boney guys and why they would be easy to date because they are desperate (as you seem to assume that heavy girls are).

That says it all. If you find her attractive - that's all that matters. It's all personal preference.

Indeed, to each their own.

I'm big and tall and curvy (and fit and healthy which is more important to me than weight).
I've known many men who are crazy for big women, who just dont find skinny women sexy, despite the skinny monoculture of US film, TV, advertising etc.

You don't get "dangerous curves" from a person skinny enough to slip through the shower drain. ;)

Wow. I don't know what's more stupid:
the idea that having AS means men are magically-more attracted to BBW's,
or that BBW's would have to be "desperate" to date them.

You seem not to understand what that means so I'll help you out
an ex. of an oxymoron would be "worthwhile commentary from rabbittss"

I see, everyone else is allowed to have an opinion except me.

I'm quite tired this constant harassment, from you and others, and really wish the mods would do something about it.

On the moderator thread they were alerted to watch this thread, Cornflake said he is. So they can see if an issue comes up. If you have an issue then let them know

There is a difference between having an opinion and being a jacka**. I suggest you learn the difference.

Um no, no one is allowed to post things that are purposelessly nasty about a whole group of people. If your 'opinions' are frequently inappropriate, you are going to have people objecting to them frequently.
People being upset about what you say isn't harassment. Even when I get rude, as above, it's directed at your comments, not your person.

This topic was kinda asking for some ickiness to crop up, glad an eye is being kept on it.
