Can you help me complete my okcupid profile?

She was answering my comment about being prepared to be messaged by guys who are only seeing 2 things on her profile, 18F. I have heard from some female friends that regardless of their listed preferences they get pervy messages and I was just passing that info along. That being said they would have to go out of their way to find her profile on a match search but some people may just send a cut and paste message to every female in a 50 mile radius hoping someone would bite.

Another tip is if you don't see much action after a while (listed as appearing in x match searches) change a word or two in your bio or answer/explain some questions. I usually increase the number of views 10 fold when there is something "new".

Actually you will never get any replies from men or non-lesbian women as the 'I'm looking for' section acts as a filter, eg with age - only those within your specified age range would be able to send you a message, one year older and they are automatically blocked. I'd maybe consider not putting any 'filters'. If you don't like a reply, you can block that person, also you are not obliged to reply!

I'd agree with Isp3c and Jono that you should expand your entries.

'I'm thinking of doing something music or art related, but I'm open minded about other stuff' - it doesn't tell me anything about you, the question 'What I?m doing with my life' is about what you are doing 'now'.

Add more bands, a few of which that are well known and can be identified with ie if you were a punk, then punk bands, etc etc - 'a bunch of Nordic stuff' - are you looking for a Viking lol - instead maybe 'I like Bjork and etc etc', only Nordic band can think of, offhand ha ha. I'm old lol!

Maybe pick another film than 'wristcutters', it maybe a wonderful film (haven't seen it), but it sounds depressing. Foreign films - which countries, subtitles or do you speak or are learning another language, elaborate....... Imagine when you get a college essay title which ends 'Discuss'

This is all about creating an image of yourself, doesn't matter if you are not an expert in something or not. Have you had a look at what similar users to yourself have written? Are you writing to others? Mention stuff you liked on their profile, mention similarities - oh, I really like '...' too etc

Lastly, when you're happy with the profile, re-list it under another name - this will put you on the new members list and your profile will be more likely to be read, amending it will not get anyone to re-read it. In fact, nothing to stop you putting up a few different ones.( Use different email addresses and different photos.)
