Wouldn’t have been easier if you posted a pic of yourself instead of all this self description essay?

I probably should've just shortened it down into bullet points and taken out the less relevant information. Apologies, Jamesy for taking this thread astray a little. Let's return to the main subject.

And my attempt to make you post a pic has failed, miserably.

Is your heritage German?

I'm not aware of anything different. Could be interesting to find out how much of a Neanderthal I am.

Most Caucasians/whites have neanderthal genes; I've also read that red hair is a neanderthal remnant trait.

Actually, it has been found, recently, that East Asians have more Neanderthal genetic material than Europeans.

O/T

I'm half German.
I was interested in finding someone who's parents/grandparents told them about WWII.
First-hand knowledge,
Not sanitised nonsense.
It was a longshot.

I did hear some stories of several people who were suffering in WW2 but never nice ones. I remember some few things only. Most people totally disliked to talk about this because the related memories weren't really nice ones. They told that American soldiers were always the most fearful ones. And that polish people did nail German people who already did live there before the war on barn doors once the Russians came. They were worse than the Russians. And they told how hard people were towards the ones who had to flee without anything but their life and nothing to eat - even for the children. And how the women were afraid of being raped. The youngest brother of my mother who was a child herself died then. And there was that story of that guy who was in a submarine when they threw water bombs from above. One day he became aware that his friend who had black hair before had totally white now just because of the incredible stress and anxieties. And then his friend told him he should have a look in the mirror himself because he had no hair at all anymore. In the end there happened a lot of sh*t and many people had to suffer a lot. But you can be sure that there isn't such a thing like a good war where any human rights still count.

I think we may be treading on thin ice by talking about historic Truth, here.
We could make a thread in the Politics/PPR forum or take it to private mail.
Personally, I would prefer others to read the "Unvarnished Truth" in the PPR forum.

If I do create a thread called "The Unvarnished Truth" in the PPR forum, would you be interested?

East Asians have more Denisovan genetic material. Neanderthals provided Europeans the genes for cold adaptation.

Many german civilians suffered terribly during the war. My parent's long term cleaning lady for many years grew up as a young girl in Cologne during the war and while the deprivation wasn't as bad as those in eastern Germany at the hands of Russian soldiers, there was still bombing, starvation, rations and a general fear for the future. The German people were the unfortunate last victims of the Nazis.
