This may be a silly question but do you think a Jewish Woman could fall in love with a German Man or a Jewish Man be in love with a German Woman given the history of Nazi Germany and the Jewish Holocaust ?

Blacks and whites date, despite slavery, so I don't see why not.

That would make a good story. And yes, it could happen. Seriously, who knows where human nature will take a situation?

Wait, did you mean DURING the holocaust? The answer is still yes, but is that what you meant?

It actually was the case that during WW2, Germans married to Jewish people did exist. It was quite hard for them to "camouflage" the jewish past, since I THINK the nazis considered jewish anyone with a jewish ancestor within 2 generations or so. =/ Please correct me if i'm wrong (which is likely the case).

Apart from the fact that Jewishness and Germanness aren't mutually exclusive, i.e. there are German Jews,...... yes.

People are people, and ethnicity/religion/history have little bearing on who you fall in love with, aside from obvious factors such as cultural ghettoisation. Lots of countries and peoples have difficult histories, some more so than others, but love is love.

What about Israeli descendants of Holocaust survivors that fall in love with Germans? Does happen, and probably isn't a massive bearing on whom you fall in love with.

I've never met a German yet I haven't liked. Which says something for me as I dislike almost everybody.

Me too, and I'm Jewish on my mother's side (non-practising, but I do take anti-semitism very personally). Never fallen in love with one, but they've all been men.

This reminded me of a film I worked on a few years ago about a two lovers, one Jewish and one Muslim, called David and Fatima--sort of a Romeo and Juliet story. Granted it is a fictional film, but these things happen.

Depends where you are in the world. If you're talking about Ft. Lauderdale/ Boca Raton - less common things have happened, to one of my friends on at least two or three occasions now.

One of my best friends has one side of their family complicit in the Holocaust, and the other side victimized during the Holocaust. So the answer is yes.

Why shouldn't she? Blacks and whites date despite slavery and Jim Crow. Whites and Asians date despite things such as the Chinese Exclusion Act, Gentlemen's Agreement, head taxes, and the Japanese internment camps.
