So, here I go again. I have recently re-connected with an old friend of mine from elementary school. And I want to go out with her so bad......... what's a guy to do?

I feel like I am Fluttershy in this situation! She works full time, additionally, what can I do? I should be non-chalant, for one.

Non-chalant is good, but don't try to be TOO aloof. Just text her or call her, I know it sucks to initiate but that's what ruined so many of my chances in the past: they thought I didn't care, when in reality, I cared so much that I overanalyzed everything until I became paralyzed and ended up doing nothing. Initiate conversation, be interested in hearing about her, and invite her to do something that you think would be fun. Don't worry so much about what she'll think of who you really are - being quiet because you overthink every little thing is even worse than being totally weird but genuine and confident. In my experience anyway.

Well I'll tell ya one thing for sure, don't be like Rainbow Dash. Don't go all acting like somepony you're not, because that leads you to feeling more troubled than you are now.

"Hey, if you're not busy next Saturday night I'd like to take you to see a movie. Or another night if you are working then." Then she will say yes or no. If her no is where she's real busy, then take that as a no. If it's a yes or a yes but I work then, then set a date, take her to a movie and also dinner after.

find out if she has a bf or anything then just swing for it man. if you are both adults you should plan a fun date ask her if she would like to go out sometime, dont talk about it being a date or not a date just ask her then ask her when would be good for her ex:

[You are having a conversation via phone text or whatever]
You: We should do something like go and see a movie or have dinner (Have drinks If you are old enough).
Her: Yea we should.
You: Awesome when are you free this week?
her: well i work till 3 every day but im off on saturday so maybe saturday night?
You: that sounds awesome what time would you like (to meet or "me to pick you up")?
her: how about 7 (at place or house).
you: great! so what do you think about disney buying starwars?

remember this could end in just a fun time or she could call it a date. let her label it and you can then go from there.

I meant Fluttershy normally. And by 'she', I meant the girl I am interested in.

I comprehended the fact that you were referring to the girl you are interested in as "she." I don't think you would have just used that as a metaphor about being reserved and shy if you were quoting a cartoon equine's resume.
