If you have no idea how to make the moves on a girl, watch Evil Dead II with her. It gives you the perfect lead-in. To heck with the old yawn-and-stretch.

Don't knock it, it halfway worked.

Any other suggestions, and reasons behind them?

I hope most people know I'm referring to the fact that you can pretend you can't control your hand...

Haha Evil Dead 2 is great, although I prefer Army of Darkness. (Shop Smart- Shop 'S Mart'.)

I dunno about date movies, but one of my favourite films is Big Trouble in Little China. I love the way he deals with the girl at the end. It's so totally what I would do :)

Doom worked out pretty good for me. Lots of monsters jumping out everywhere ,and every single time they would, she would cringe and jump into my arms.

Heh, great thread. My mate works in a video shop and the boss is GIVING HIM the old shop for nothing (madness!) and he wants to turn into the weirdest video shop ever by getting rid of all the traditional sections like Horror, Drama etc and replacing them with things like Teen Goofball Comedy or Slasher Films etc. One of them however, is going to be Date Films or as I call it, How To Con Chicks films.

Rushmore seems to work pretty good.

Actually i find the yawn and stretch works well. This is because it is so incredibly cheesy my date usually finds it amusing.

Think comedies could work better then horridies? I always kinda wondered if a comedy movie would be more fun then a horror/slasher/etc.

In general though I'd have to agree with Evil Dead. Dead Alive was pretty good for that sort of thing too. But its a bit more light hearted.

I'd say anything light - a good comedy, maybe one of those heist movies like Oceans Eleven or Italian Job.

As for Evil Dead movies like that can be fun I guess, just that if it's horror or some kind of cheesy B movie it has to be something you can both entertain eachother by cracking jokes about.

Two of my all time favorites, Chocolat http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0241303/,
and Like Water for Chocolate.

Although Moter Cycle Diaries would be a great date movie too.

You may say I'm a little wierd, but I rather like movies like Moulin Rouge or things with both romance and awesome sword fighting (ie, The Princess Bride).

Ok, well tonight I saw a movie that I would like to add to this list.
I am David by Paul Feig.

In it, a young boy raised mostly in a Communist concentration camp escapes the camp and must travel to Denmark.

Some have said that this movie is slow at times, but I think that Aspies who have sometimes felt trapped and missunderstood in the NT world will forgive the movie for its faults, and fall in love with the story.

I know that I have.

Beat me to it. Dead Alive is probably the best. It's right up there with Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend.

On second thought, don't show her that unless you want to feel like Travis Bickle afterwards.

Catch Me If You Can

Why? Let's just say it took me 3 trips to the movie theatre to "see" this movie.

Dead Alive is funny and disgusting. Legend of the Overfiend puts any past, present and future problems you may ever have with getting "action" COMPLETELY in persepctive.

I want to revise my advice and say just watch Babe with her and serve her pork chops. Show her you can cook. Women like that in a man. That, and it shows you have a GREAT sense of humor. Along the same vein, if it's later in the relationship and she has asked you to kill a spider at any point, regress and watch Charlotte's Web. It may stop her. Even if it doesn't, you can scream CHARLOTTE? CHARLOTTE? every time an arachnid dies in both of your presence for at least a month following. I could say what you could do after watching Old Yeller but it would get put in the mature forum and I'd get a warning.

((Oh, and, I actually did watch Babe and eat pork chops in sixth grade. Because I'm frickin COOL. 8) I'm a vegetarian now but I'm still proud of having done that.))
