Yep...I like the Times puzzle.

He ratches up the difficulty day by day. I've finished Saturday at least once--but I've never finished the Sunday puzzle.

Your Scent has inspired me.....Please come to my booth :D

Anything in particular to drink...after a rough day in the Minefields of Academia?

You look so Scholarly in your Bun....and it excites me.

But should you let your fragrant, herbal-essence hair out....it shall excite me even more!

It's a most Comfy Booth. The Bartender made it so.

The Scent of the Sea is especially strong tonight; it has penetrated even into the Dark Recesses of the Bar.

How would you feel about "Beyond the Sea" by Bobby Darin?

Sure, play that, sounds nice! I am so pleased to just relax now but, as you noticed, I did come straight from work so I definitely still look like a professor! I have a lot of work to do tonight, but I also want to hang out with you so, I may be a little slow posting. I am still here though, so no worries. Can I share the puzzle with you? Oh, wait, I see they have some copies of the Times at the bar! I'll just grab one.

I hope it wasn't too hectic for you.

Either way, you're here, away from the Rat Race.

And the Scent of the Sea is especially strong tonight.

Within the froth left by the waves...are some Pearls for us to pick up later.

I was wondering....do you like a man clean-shaven, or do you prefer a little 5 o'clock shadow?

5:00 shadow. Definitely. In actuality, I have a big thing for facial hair, but it is not a deal maker or breaker, as each person is an individual. It may be visual, it may be sensory, it may be a random quirk, but by all means do not shave on my behalf and I will be grateful for it. My day was fine, but the to-do list is long and the time is short. As the song goes "I've got a long way to go and a short time to get there!" (Cannonball Run? right?)

How was your day? Oh...you are having your work day now, no?

My day was okay. Nothing special----until the Presence walked into the room.

I'm glad you were able to come here, despite your evidently busy schedule.

Is there any way I could help you make it easier for you?

Oh yes, thanks! I will take any thesis advice you can give and, if my professors don't get back to me soon, you can be a member of my thesis committee! (kidding) Tonight I am polishing and adjusting my business plan for class. This week and next are finals, then I will have a break from my own education and I can focus on just administering the education of others! Also if you can color pretty well, I could use some help rendering some illustrations.

In all seriousness, that is super thoughtful of you and I do wish you could help. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now, though, and it does not appear to be the oncoming train, so...all is well. Having you to talk to reduces stress and increases joy, so you are great for my executive function and morale. THAT is how you help.

You're really an accomplished woman. You can be an inspiration for those on the Spectrum who doubt themselves.

It's great that you don't have to devise your "business plan" from theory--as you already are a professor, and have been for years.

It's apparent that you should use your model--as it's kept you working for all that time.

Doesn't that make it easier for you?

It would, but the theory here is that I would be changing careers from teaching to freelance illustration full time. I appreciate the inspiration bit but, to be honest, I have been very, very lucky and I know it. I have taught at the same school so long because I probably would not be able to function anywhere else. I have no grasp of office politics, no real "professional fashion sense" do not wear (nor will I wear) make up, and I miss a lot of smallish details. Add to that a heavy dose of social malfunction, little ability to read emotions (obvious ones I can do), and some tics and stimming and you get...well, nearly unemployable. (Luckily my students think I am hilarious...and odd, -in a good way)

I pursued this degree because I had to keep my job, and I am pleased that I have gotten this far. It has strained me to the breaking point many times now, and as you probably know, the fallout has to go somewhere. I am not sure if I could really make a career change fly...but I at least have to pretend in order to graduate! 8)

I guess we will see when the dust settles...It looks a heck of a lot less impressive from where I am standing. Thanks, though.

Freelancing is a crapshoot these days. Are you getting burned out from teaching? I hope you will get some sort of pension from this place you're working at now.

I honestly sense, despite your stims, etc....that you would have managed in any job. I sense that you have a strong survival instinct--probably inspired by your children. Having children has a way of making and breaking people--but you've made it.

The Purple Glow is immeasurably enhanced....by the subtle strobe lights.

It's your turn now...to pick what you want to hear.

Well, it is a risk, yes. I suppose I am burned out, a bit, but it is not as though they will kick me out of teaching (unless I do not graduate! ) I do not get a pension, no, but a 401K (ironic name). Mainly it is hard to get by with a family of four (counting Mom) on my income, is the thing that makes me want to improve....also wanting more satisfaction out of my career.

I like the purple very much. Let's play some old, sultry Motown. I want to feel mellow and calm.

How about "Beat me to the Punch" by Mary Wells?

It has a bossa-nova sort of sound.
