A lot of incels do wind up having sex with prostitutes but still consider themselves incels, even though they've already had sex and are technically not incels anymore.

And I think the reason for that is because incels arne't just seeking sex; they're seeking love and validation that someone is attracted to them. Prostitutes provide neither of that.
Well, that's not being incel (lowercase), that's being lonely. They overlap, and may produce similar bitter feelings, but they're not one and the same.

You'll be surprised to find out how robust and secretive the escorting network is in the US. It uses offshore websites and email servers, communicates in discreet wording cops can't use as evidence, and has ways to verify people I can't share here. So unless you're being stupid or careless, use untrustworthy websites, and don't practice discretion, your risk of getting arrested is low. Not zero---but low.

You Amerians are an odd bunch, presumably because of the large religious community.

Yep. Perfectly stated, and that sort of thing is throughout our history. Hence the illegalization of alcohol in the 1930s, the Salem Witch Trials, the list is long.

Well, that's true. American founders were rebels and mutineers looking to get away from the British. But they were also deeply religious (Protestants/Calvinists). Which precluded any sexual enjoyment. Sex was seen a necessary procedure for bringing kids into the world, rather than something pleasurable, and was limited to spouses only.

The stupidity of humanity never ceases to fascinate me. 8O

Very much so. He was a Deist who questioned the church's interference into everyday life. Deism means god created the world, then stepped aside to let it act on its own. Deists don't even worship Jesus, although they probably still worship Yahweh (God the Father/creator). But I was referring more to the Puritans of New England, whose anti-pleasure culture, laser-focused on work and church, still persists to a modified degree in modern America.

I know what a Deist is thanks. That wasn't what I meant. Franklin was a very horny guy who while ambassador to France was doing every whore in Paris.

And why wouldn't one? 8)

Unfortunately, if you're located in the US, the only place to visit a (legal) brothel is in Nevada. And depending on where you live in the US, that could be a 10+, 20+, or 30+ hour drive. And there are no plans to legalize brothels in other states any time soon. So if you're American wishing to see a prostitute, your only options are to travel to Nevada, go out of the country, or see a prostitute illegally and run the risk of getting in trouble with the law.

Would it be better if the law made special exceptions for socially challenged people that were incel, and legalized it for them or gave them a pass, kind of like how you can legally take certain drugs if they are perscribed? Or would this just make problems worse?

The US is extremely hypocritical on this issue. Getting arrested for soliciting a whore can cause average Joe no end of problems but senators and wealthy businessmen do it all the time and it's laughed off.

I say legalize it period. The laws against it do far more harm than good.

Shades of Jeffrey Epstein! 8O

A sin is not a sin unless you get caught, sort of thing, and then if you do, you do a mea culpa on steroids, with crocodile tears, and all is forgiven for them.
Simples. 8)

Is there any wonder why enlightened people have no respect for the system?

At that time there were no condoms and no effective way to treat syphilis or gonorrhea.

Lucky Aussie incels.
That's true. But from what I heard on the news, Australia currently has a very strict "stay home" order with no end date. You're not even allowed to go to a grocery store; you must order everything online, unless you're over 65. All you're allowed is walking on the streets within 500 meters of your home, and you must be alone. Everything else leads to a fine or an arrest.

So legal prostitution is a moot point, if you can't even leave your home to see another person, let alone meet a woman for sex.

The state of Victoria has the strictest laws (and for some reason the worst cases of COVID) but we are scheduled to return back to semi-normalcy on Oct 26th when we hit a vaccination milestone.

I think there may be a simple explanation.
The weather.

Queensland is handling things better not because of the glorious wisdom of pałaszczuk, but because it has a warmer climate and lots of sunshine.

Victorians are wondering how with stricter lockdowns we are always in a worse position the NSW when it comes to community transmission of COVID?

I am willing to admit Gladys has seemed to manage COVID better than Dan.

Yes, I know, and I agree. I confess, the question was somewhat rhetorical and devil's-advocate, intended specifically for the member I was addressing.

It's not appropriate to ask women some things

Oh, oh, okay. Yeah, well...it's just that ironpony often tells us the stuff his lady friends have told him and takes it at face value as undisputed truth. No reason to believe he can't ask them stuff equally the same way he would a man. No need to believe equality is a myth. Oh, okay, yeah, in the interest of equality, why can't he ask his lady friends the same questions he asks random men on the Internet?

...it sort of proves the point...These guys are too ugly to get girls, and most women won't be kindly honest with them (or any other men). In other words, you're actually saying we can't ask women the same stuff we'd ask men, and we can't fully trust what any woman says. Your implications, not mine.

Well I feel that my close women friends and my gf are more reliable to ask than just anyone. I can only go by the most reliable.

They're probably more reliable than lonely guys who's main insights on women come from Hollywood and pick-up artists.

She was the best premier in Australia, but not because she was a conservative.
She wasn't perfect, btw.
She appointed Turnbull, after all.

I think it is disgusting that she is out, and that intelligent weasel, who games the system, is still in.
