So... what you're saying is:
*People get mad at things.
*The human condition is too varied and complex to apply any theory to all subsets and pairings of humans.
*Thus any theories on common human behaviour is still subjective regardless of the statistics, though there are probable outcomes.
*Therefore asking for any real proof of the above only stirs the pot and leads to people arguing about how correct or false the data is.
*So ultimately we should just all do ourselves a favour and stop trying to climb the ladder then there would be no theory to worry about

More or less, but it sounded so much nicer and more impressive when I said it. A short version would be, "stop relying on scholars to tell you everything and try to figure something out for yourself rather than being a parrot".

Yeah, I'm sure the people with somebody or are getting laid are pretty tired of this as well.

Hm, what can I say. Everything is open to scrutiny. The greater the opinion the greater the chance this will be. The Ladder Theory's doctrinairian is exactly that, a doctrinairian. He writes off other people yet expects people to take him with the fullest of seriousness (while poorly attempting humor). If this theory had been shared by no offence, a greater mind, with more tact, it might come out less scathed in a forum such as this.

That's so true, I know this theory since I was a teenager and I never saw it explained with that arrogance and condescension. The busty girl cartooned (moreover, seems she has some kind of idiocy) and the dialogue between stupid Sally and "enlightener" Harry are very typical examples of "average NT forums".

The theory explained this way wants us to believe that it's better having only one ladder because this way you have all the gender you love in one same sack so it can be easier to you to f**k it.

Ladder Theory is about ten years out of date. Much better information has come along since then.

This whole thing seems kind of deeply rooted in sexism.

The world will be a much better place once the gender binary all but disappears.

One thing I hate about aspies in general is how they spend all their time and energy finding and developing arguments, even writing DISSERTATIONS, as to why their lives suck so bad and how they will never amount to anything. When you post crap like this, you don't help others and you certainly don't help yourself.

Ironically, what you just posted doesn't help anybody either. So....stalemate.

I really hate to burst anyone's bubble who's believing that its the ladder theory problem, its a fantasy of accountability - ie. many guys wishing they had something tangible that they could blame themselves on. Reality IMHO isn't even that nice.

Pretty much with AS, no matter how well you improve your social skills, people will either be able to read your body language or they won't (and on many different fronts). That essentially controls what behaviors will work for you and which will blow up in your face. If you have enough behaviors that you neurologically can't pull off because communication is dampened too significantly then you'll start coming off as the weird/snyde jerk who's playing games and socially 'doing things' to people. For those who don't have that problem nothing I just said will make sense because its really staring a lot further down the rabbit hole than what most people ever experience let alone come to grips with understanding.

So it other words its not alpha failing, its much more likely just your ASD and the fact that we have to hide it, aren't allowed to talk about it it, that we can hardly understand how our behavioral fault lines work so how could anyone else let alone a complete stranger with no social proof....etc..etc.

Really pay attention though and I'm sure you can find guys much geekier, much more helpless, and doing much better. Its not what you think it is.

Well in fact the ladder theory states that men want to have sex with all the women and doesn't matter if these women are unfriendly or best friends. Heaven of friendship or abyss of ugliness, all is negotiable when there are sexual needs and all the women are welcome in the only and exclusive ladder of sex.

I can't understand the battle of sexes either, but it's around us all the time :hmph:

Its more like "This is the only right way for a guy to think - anything less is too kindly and weak to go on". There's still some degree of that sentiment in our culture but its still something that's been spread more by coercion than people's actual desires.
