Correct, no one is flawless.. but when it comes to love, others flaws become perfectly imperfect & you come to like them more for having those flaws that make them unique. That's my take on that, anyways.

As for getting a significant other by 25, that depends on whether you mean a boyfriend/girlfriend, or a long term relationship that's likely to result in marriage &/or a life together. I'd say most people have had at least their first serious bf/gf by 25, yes, but I wouldn't say most have "coupled up," by then. In my parents' generation, yes, in mine.. not so much. People are getting married and having kids later and later these days because life has changed so much. It takes years to get a university education, making people 4+ years older when they start getting serious about dating and relationships than previous generations who weren't all but expected to go to uni. Further, financial and economic reasons mean people are cash strapped and living at home with family for years longer than they ever used to - especially around here where I live - so it's become the new normal to be a 30yo adult living at your parents' house and still establishing your career in hopes of future financial independence & the relationship freedoms that come along with that. I'm somewhat fortunate to have this phenomenon of the highest % of adults living at home with their families in the country going on all around me here, plus the various Asian cultures that live together as collectivist culture families forever, so it doesn't seem thaaaat strange that I'm 31 and living at my parents' place. Yes, many of my friends are married and have bought houses and so forth, but I am VERY far from the only one living at my folks' place to save money still. That's why I'm still here now while I work and save up, but initially it was due to AS & other symptoms when they were much stronger a couple years ago and I wasn't working much. Regardless, the new norms here are a nice cover for the fact that I had to move back to my parents' place for a while.

I finally put up an empty profile so I could go read everyone else's (I promise, some day I'll fill it in, and then I'll post it up for critique).

Buff, if you weren't 35 years younger than me, I'd want to meet you based on your profile! It made me laugh several times, and you are hella cute. :)

Hmmm, probably shouldn't link you that cougers thinking-in-text post lol
(I was going to say, I keep seeing you posting on the same threads as me, are you following me?)

You are kind of posting a crapton of short posts. if you have a lot of things to say, try to consolidate and wait for a few other people to get a word in edgewise before you post again. Also, hale bop stated previously that she did not want us to focus only on her profile so one or two posts on her was fine but after that it was too much. You should take a look at the other profiles and if you have an opinion feel free to state it. try not to get too caught up on one person, she was mostly just trying to make other people feel comfortable posting their own profile by posting hers. Why don't you find a different profile and make 1 post to review it?

can someone help me with mine? I hate the name but I can't change it unless I pay. I don't know if I should make a new account for the name. I also feel like my profile is too bland so I'm looking for advice. thanks.

The most important part of your profile is your PHOTOS. You need to get better pics. You're good looking but the bathroom selfies with a toilet paper roll are not gonna do any good.
Get photos of you outside in natural light. Preferably of you doing something and not looking at the camera. Get your whole body in.

And read this. http://blog.okcupid.com/index.php/dont- ... -accident/

alright thanks for the tip.

Best one yet.

The areas I'd improve this profile on are basically just grammar, sentence structure, capitalization (be consistent - capitalize the first word in every sentence.), punctuation etc.

Just simple rephrasing of things like "I'm on Insanity trying to be in shape." to "I'm following Shaun T's Insanity workout program to get in better shape." And I'd maybe change "my eyes or my body(I've lost some weight so people from my hometown notice that first)" to "My eyes (I'm told they're unique; wanna see 'em for yourself?) or my body, especially since I've gotten into better shape."

There are several other little things I'd change about grammar/sentences, but it's all fairly minor stuff. It's just that if you go through it with a fine tooth comb and make it as good as it can possibly be, well, it can't possibly hurt your chances any! It could also attract someone who appreciates proper writing, not to mention that it can then convey that you're thorough and consistent in other areas of your life as well. Changing from proper capitalization to all lower case and back again at random just seems careless and sloppy - which isn't the sort of impression you want to give people about the rest of your life... because how you do anything is how you do everything, and people can, will, and do judge a book by it's cover.

And a better photo. That's probably the single biggest thing you could do. As someone else mentioned, a bathroom selfie with a toilet paper roll visible isn't exactly an attractive picture to use for a dating site. It's just baaaarely acceptable for throwing on facebook. I've done it lol when I snapped a bathroom mirror selfie after going for a run.. but in hindsight, I reeeally probably shouldn't have even put that on facebook lol such a social faux pas. Oh well, rather minor mistake in the grand scheme of life.. live an learn.

As for the screen name, pfffft, it's not that bad. I wouldn't worry much about it at all. People have silly internet aliases of their own and fully understand it these days. Someone might even find it cute. It's really not that bad of a screen name, and rather fitting of a computer engineering student. Also, it's not like the screen name is super prominent on your okcupid profile in the first place, so it doesn't even really get noticed thaaat much - not nearly as much as your photo and your profile.

thanks for the response. Sounds like my pictures are the biggest problem. I want to capture my whole body. Sounds like I need someone to take it for me. The only place I have a mirror is at college so that is why I'm in a bathroom.

Updated my grammar, capitalization.

Also added a new photo that was taken at a wedding reception. Not my favorite picture, but it's at least not in a bathroom. I also cropped the bathroom pictures but will add some more. My question is how many pictures is too many on a dating site?

Still trying to decide what picture to use for my face one.

That's right Ferrus. I have explained that she lives 9000 miles away from me, is 12 years younger than I am, and we have different interests (we only have a love of cats in common). So she wouldn't go out with me. I'm not hurt by that; just merely curious why a beautiful intelligent woman like her is single when she posted an okcupid profile, and is interested in dating. Perhaps you have a better chance with her. I hope for the best.

That might be true in Lebanon, but not everywhere.

I think you were on to something when you talked about low self-esteem being a problem. Low self-esteem affects how we act in ways that make us unattractive.

I wish we (both of us) did not have AS because those unexplained rejections do a number on your self-esteem.
