This is all so very sad. What are men being made to become for the sake of getting women?

I hate this world. Us men are really screwed. This isnt the only place Ive heard these things.... women like either skinny men whom cam easily be broken in half, or nogger guys who basically do physical labor jobs to develop that broad, thicker natural look.

If you are a guy whos worked behind a desk hos entire adult life and actually eat food, forget it.

I go to the gym to make myself feel and look better... but half the point is missing if the best I can hope to attain is an artifical look or stay a fat slob... friggin awesome.... lemme just go f*****g shoot myself now...

I find very muscular men to be a turn off. At my old gym, there would always be a group of them grunting and flexing in front of the mirror. It made me quite uncomfortable using the weight room.

When I first joined the gym.

Gym junkie 1: "You should eat 6 eggs without yolk every morning" (Eurgh)
Gym junkie 2: "You gotta drink protein shakes, a lot" (a good path for having a kidney failure).
Gym junkie 3: "Here, you shall try this product" (don't get me start at the ingredients).

I guess either can be attractive imo, but I think they look best when they wear a shirt or something.

Seriously, non-skinny young women experience a lot of more dating discrimination than non-skinny young men.

I seriously doubt that with how BBW is a fetish and I have barely seen anyone use the term "dadbod" unironically. The number of overweight females I've seen with more fit partners compared to males is extremely in favor of the former. It's simply denial to say that men have harsher standards for women when the women have most of the power in dating dynamics.

I like the fact that a little belly on a woman usually comes together with generous curves in other places. A little fat doesn't make them look like complete wretches the way it does on us if we don't have an awful lot of muscle to make up for it.

A fetish is a called a fetish because it's an unusual obsession .

Also being a fetish is not the same as being datable. People have fetishes about incest but you don't see them dating family

Gaston in the making. Call me when he ups it to five dozen and clogs his arteries.

BBW is a fetish often based around the embarrassment of being with someone "large." A lot of people do like the somewhat chubby type with a bit of a belly and aren't embarrassed being seen with girls who look that way, me included, but that's on the edge of "normal" rather than outside its bounds. And even that can draw weird stares if you're a partner who's seen as "more attractive." Especially from guys, it's much less an issue with gay girls in my experience, probs due to gender differences in attraction.

A guy with "dadbod" who's charming has a ton of options, I've often seen the "funny chubby dude" stereotype with pretty attractive girlfriends. Stand-up comedians are rarely handsome and often chubby, and usually have very attractive wives. A guy's attraction to a girl is more viscerally looks-based, so a girl with the equivalent has to hope for someone willing to look past the related social stigma. So, either someone who's less looks-based in their attraction than normal, or someone with weird tastes.

My guess for why you're observing the reverse is either: 1) You know an abnormal amount of guys with a preference for chubby girls. The less likely explanation of the two, though I've noticed geek guys are more likely to have it. 2) You know a lot of guys who aren't considered attractive, due to a personality flaw/lack of height/unattractive face (all of which matter more to most girls), who have "settled" for women who are (whatever their personality or facial attractiveness) put on an equal playing field due to a body type usually considered unattractive.

Don't believe the gender tag. I was born intersex and identify as queer, girl-leaning. So while I can sometimes present as an effeminate guy, that's less than half the time and if anything I'd prefer it say "female" of the two choices offered. I can't change it though, it's bugged.

Now I think of it, I've seen during the last few years quite a bit of denial of what seemed to be pretty established science about cholesterol and the way it screws up our circulatory system, and it seemed to come from respectable sources.

It'd be interesting to see what happens to all those people gorging themselves on eggs. Meanwhile, I'll happily not be one of them.

If you are in your twenties, women will expect you to be slim, proportionate and symmetrical. I think an athletic and lean body type is the best because it doesn't require nearly as much maintenance as a bodybuilder physique.

^ Wrong, it is by far harder to get an athletic body (through certain dedication in some sport or activities) than a bodybuilder physique.

^ In that case it would make more sense for me to go for a bodybuilder physique because it's easier but which do women prefer, the bodybuilder physique or the athletic physique?

How much is a little fat? How much is too much?

Unfortunately not the one that's easier, especially according to many of the women responding here.

Many of them describe wanting a guy 'naturally' athletic (impossible in modern society, most athletes strength train, even the skinny ones like swimmer Michael Phelps has some gym pics circulating on the web) as opposed to a guy who looks like a beefed out gym rat.

You want an example of naturally athletic men? Look at men of ancient and currently existing tribes. Their bodies are naturally strong due to their muscles having to adapt to their environment.

Some of them have bulkier bodies, but plenty are also just thin. This is even when some of them have been living in nature and hunting and building shelters with their bare hands their entire lives.

This isn't the only place this problem has been brought up.

If you do a google search there's many threads on the Bodybuilding.com forum, filled with ripped guys the size of Channing Tatum or Jacob from Twilight or even larger, who have noticed a lot of women prefer skinnier guys and are intimidated by their muscle and size. Many of them report NO difference in the amount of attention they got from women.

These are all anecdotal experiences, but a large compilation of them nonetheless that all generally say similar things (one side arguing it's true, the other arguing they got way more success when they got super strong):

Yes.

In fact, many athletes use bodybuilding to accelerate their growth in fitness in the first place.

Most athletes do bodybuilding inspired strength training, otherwise they'd be weak without it.

Athletes obviously have to train specifically to their sport - Tennis players must play actual tennis to learn hand-eye co-ordination, etc. swimmers must swim, football players must run and handle the ball, etc.

But having a decent amount of muscle makes training for their sport all the more easier, and gives those who do an edge over those who don't.

It's just lifting weights 3 days a week for 1-2 hours in very limited movements and conditions.

I can see however how past age 35 or so it starts to become taxing on the joints, ligaments, bones and tears your muscles more easier, etc. but it's still easy mode compared to how dangerous and taxing some sports can be (injury risks, etc.)

Bodybuilding does help one gain some functional strength, but you'd also gain far more functional strength either by functional training (bodyweight exercises, etc.) or actually have a laborious job.
