I seriously doubt that with how BBW is a fetish and I have barely seen anyone use the term "dadbod" unironically.
BBW is a fetish often based around the embarrassment of being with someone "large." A lot of people do like the somewhat chubby type with a bit of a belly and aren't embarrassed being seen with girls who look that way, me included, but that's on the edge of "normal" rather than outside its bounds. And even that can draw weird stares if you're a partner who's seen as "more attractive." Especially from guys, it's much less an issue with gay girls in my experience, probs due to gender differences in attraction.

The number of overweight females I've seen with more fit partners compared to males is extremely in favor of the former.
A guy with "dadbod" who's charming has a ton of options, I've often seen the "funny chubby dude" stereotype with pretty attractive girlfriends. Stand-up comedians are rarely handsome and often chubby, and usually have very attractive wives. A guy's attraction to a girl is more viscerally looks-based, so a girl with the equivalent has to hope for someone willing to look past the related social stigma. So, either someone who's less looks-based in their attraction than normal, or someone with weird tastes.
My guess for why you're observing the reverse is either: 1) You know an abnormal amount of guys with a preference for chubby girls. The less likely explanation of the two, though I've noticed geek guys are more likely to have it. 2) You know a lot of guys who aren't considered attractive, due to a personality flaw/lack of height/unattractive face (all of which matter more to most girls), who have "settled" for women who are (whatever their personality or facial attractiveness) put on an equal playing field due to a body type usually considered unattractive.

Don't believe the gender tag. I was born intersex and identify as queer, girl-leaning. So while I can sometimes present as an effeminate guy, that's less than half the time and if anything I'd prefer it say "female" of the two choices offered. I can't change it though, it's bugged.
