I massively disagree sorry, you can overcome negative thinking. I've seen people who are ridiculously obese overcome that and learned how to love themselves.

I don't deprive myself of anything I just do tons of exercise, you can eat like a horse and still be slim if you're an active person, running for example. I will literally shove profiteroles into my face hole with no regrets cause I know the next day I'll be doing a 15 mile walk or a big run or something.

Cutting fat is not as hard as everyone seems to think it is, it's literally just cal counting and exercise with a bit of strategy. It's just applying the motivation to actually do it that is the problem for a lot of people.

I personally eat quite healthy though because when you're a certain level of health you can feel more s**t depending on what you eat.

...Not that those in the know would recommend relinquishing every shred of all your personal information to dubious companies collecting it for profits they're barely even sharing with the richest "influencers".

I would like your children to govern their own digital lives, instead of the economic interests of surveillance capitalist vampires like Mark Zuckerburg.

FWIW I think your job is way cooler than what these dudes are suggesting. My job is really damn hard too, respect.

That doesn't make production of social media "content" the rational or sustainable choice.

Have you ever thought about what happens when one company gains influence over the entire internet? Social media interests want nothing less. You're screaming in a library as far as I'm concerned.

Side note, I don't really know what I consider myself.

More of an outlier in these terms than anything in particular.

It's okay, I was joking. I've been looking around for other jobs though, I'm getting burnt out.

I'm burnt to a crisp, but that's always the mindset I learned code with anyway.

I was being "tongue in cheek" so was not serious. I am fairly certain Martianprincess isn't going to ditch her job and become an instagram girl. And if she does that's her decision to make.

Likewise, I'm not really convinced that anyone actually decides to do that though, there's too much societal conditioning going on around this idea of "influence".

I see social media as more of a bug zapper than a legitimate business. In concept it is an attractive idea, in practice it's a difficult (un)reality to live with.

And I didn't suggest she does anything, btw.

I wouldn't suggest she ditch her job either.
Especially in the pandemic.

Aaron looks like the guy who was the lead singer of the Shadows of Knight—who had a hit with “Gloria” in 1966.

This thread has inspired me to use an actual photo of myself and my boys as my icon. For a while anyway. Privacy is so important to me so it won't last.
