I feel like writing a poem in ode to Valentines Day, so here goes...

Oh Vday, oh Vday, you're here again,
Just when I thought I'd forgotten back then,
My Valentine, a teddy, a chocolate box,
Now I'm stuck with a sliced open chest (literally; I had an operation yesterday) and dirty socks.

Woe is me, for I can't comprehend,
How quickly the day arrived around the bend,
I brought chocolate roses for my family and friend,
But they were likely eaten by the mouse under my bed.

Now I'm at my computer in the morning light,
Panicking about the audition I have tonight,
Hoping at work I'll feel alright,
And not start bleeding at my first twist to the right.

You know, Vday, you ain't so bad,
A day full of acting and business ain't so sad,
I might gain a lead role from my callback tonight!
And the couples in my restaurant make for a heartwarming sight.

I think, deep down, we all like to sigh,
Feel sorry for ourselves, and have a little cry,
Chuck dramatics and pretend we'd rather die,
Than admit that Vday means little in the context of our lives.

On a bright note, Valentine's day falls on a Saturday this year. I don't have to leave my room.

Besides my new TV, I will find another way to forget about V-Day tomorrow. I will tear down the walls of my sanity and let my insanity flow like a river!!
