For me, romance without intellectual stimulation is gonna be over in 3 months.

Better then, then when she runs out of things to talk about...

Oh, they usually run out of things to talk about within the first month. I'm just too blinded or distracted to catch it for awhile....

One of the downsides of not being particularly selective....

Romance is the same theme, over and over. Just slightly different words.

Poetry, doe eyes, simple signs of affection.

Bringing the intellect in to the mix is why they don't like aspies.

You're right, but look at the number of profiles that claim "I'm looking for an intelligent guy." Of course, "intelligent" is almost always misspelled, but the idea comes through.

And then, when the aforementioned "intelligent guy" shows up, they want him to turn his brain off and become Father Mannequin.

I've had enough of the cute airhead fluffballs who could lose a maze race to an amoeba. I'd rather be alone than have to go through that sort of torture again.

I can't agree or disagree with that comment. Interesting.

TeaEarlGreyHot, if you have not already done so, you may want to avail yourself of the message and IM filter options (located under Settings, Profile options). I suggested that they set up similar options allowing users to restrict who views their profile, but so far they have ignored my suggestion. :?

I am (slowly) working my way through the plethora of questions on that site. (Does anyone know how may questions most people usually complete?) There are several which you could use to try to screen out the sex fiends, illiterate idiots, etc. (Of course, they can try to evade this by lying.) Given some of the comments in this thread, I think I am going to have to go back and adjust some of mine to do just that. I am a fairly relaxed and open guy, but I am ambivalent about dating and you folks are starting to make me worry.

If you are just getting started on OkC (as I am), you might want to remove your pictures. This will keep your profile out of some of the search results. It will also make you less desirable. You can put your pictures back up once you have a better idea of the type of people you want to avoid, and have answered questions and set up filters accordingly.

[Edit. Also see http://www.okcupid.com/help/topics ]

Oh, and PM me if you would like to be my sugar mommy.

+/- 50 is par. It's fine to say hello to anyone though.
