She said that integrity and communication are two of the most important parts of a relationship. She also said that whenever it comes to relationships, it's extremely important to make sure that both parties understand each other and respect their boundaries.

Never take dating advice from your parents. Parents are old-fashioned and outdated.

Some of them are, but others aren't. I think that my mum's advice is quite intelligent and interesting, but that's just me.

I asked my parents for dating advice back in 10th grade and tried to follow it. The results were absolutely disastrous.

Oh...That's too bad. :( As Socrates said, don't just accept everything at face value. Think about whether new information is reasonable and seems sensible to you, and ask questions all the time [I do!]

If I wanted dating advice, I'd just use Google. It's like a wise old bearded man who knows everything, except it's never outdated.

You can't trust everything [or even most things] you read on the internet. If you want to trust someone, trust yourself.

Trusting oneself works for well-informed NTs, but aspies can't simply trust their gut instinct when it comes to social interaction. Our social instincts, if we have any, are deeply broken.

Some Aspies can, and others can't. I trust myself when it comes to social interactions.

And people accept you?

Yes, they do. I guess I have a lot of magnetism or charisma or something. Or maybe people like me because I'm kind and generous.

Once I learned to love and accept myself, people became oddly attracted to me.
I've made more friends this year than I've ever had in my life.
Getting a diagnosis played a big part in that acceptance.
I thought, f**k it, I'll just be the most perfect imperfect me I can be.
So far, it's been working for me.
I'm getting invited everywhere.

Well done, good to see that you have turned a positive new leaf. I do believe positivity and self acceptance are vital in overcoming our struggles.
