If your grades at math were always Cs, then it would be a honest conclusion to say “I can never be a mathematician” , that’s not a prophecy, that’s logic based on a long historical input.

I find sly being realistic in evaluating his chances, the only thing I disagree with him is him not trying to improve his situation.
But his self-evaluation of his current situation? It is very realistic.

I’ve tried to improve it’s why I got this crappy job, which has made my health worse by the way. I’ve gained weight since working here also.
I’m limited so full time work is impossible. True part time work 20 hours or less is hard to come but and is mostly if not always going be retail work.
Due to working I don’t have time to go to the gym.

What is your exact work time? 9 to 5? 9 to 6? 5 days a week?

I work 5pm-9pm but I leave at 2to3ish and get home around 11. Rest of my time. It spent doing errands or getting ready for work is spent playing games. About 1 1/2 to two hours a day on work days.

You don't have to go to the gym to exercise...

I can't stand gyms. I need fresh air. As much as I might benefit from being more fit, that's more a matter of discipline for me than anything.

You may not need a gym. You can get all your exercise with a single dumbbell and stretching. At home all you'll need to do is just sit-ups, push-ups, and jogging in the neighborhood in the daytime. I own a 10 lb dumbbell to help with shoulder problems and that just costed 5 dollars. Maybe even working a labor intensive job could create as much muscle as the gym.

Gold and money has value cause others say it does. A single person thinking something doesn’t make it true . Or if I thought I could fly I would. Thinking I can’t fly isn’t self fulfilling prophecy as I can’t fly that’s just reality.
Likewise if everyone else thinks I’m worthless and useless it does t matter that I think I’m the king of England cause I’m not.
Doctors call it delusional.
It’s delusional to think I’m handsome and worthy if no woman thinks that. Delusions aren’t healthy. I could see someone who thinks they’re worthy when others say they are as eventfully harboring hatred to them like why won’t they love them as they’re worthy of it so something must be wrong with them.
It also leads to pain and hurt. Being rejected over and over. I’m not attractive, I don’t have a real job, I don’t uave enough money, I meet most if not all women’s red flags for those so I’ll never be considered worthy to them. What good would lying to myself and deluding myself into thinking otherwise do?
I’m disabled, I’ll never be normal, I’ll never have a good enough job to outwaiegh my unattractivness, never make enough to pay for the things most women want and others here say is normal to want and this normal to not want a guy like me.
There no house or car in my futur, no 401k, no retirement, no vacations to Europe, etc.

Personal value and monetary value are different things. Going with your analogy - If the stick means something to me then yes it has value. Anyone that cares for me ought to respect that and everyone else is irrelevant. Typically people don't sell things that have personal value, so why would I need to sell it? I would take that stick to the grave XP

I don't think the analogy works for the simple reason that we are not sticks, nor rocks, nor money, nor plants. We're people. If I dropped dead tomorrow the people here on WP(actually most people in general) likely wouldn't notice or care, and that's totally cool people don't know me much. But because of that would it mean I had no value? Of course not; I'm not a thing. You aren't either. I've been ditched by people more times than I can count but just because I meant nothing to them doesn't mean I mean nothing at all. Even if every woman in the world rejected you(which is ridiculous) it still wouldn't mean you have no value. Romantically yeah it's obvious you have some issues but it's pretty hard for you to even try to tackle those if you fundamentally don't think you have value =/ that's what I'm talking about.

Everyone has something they do not like, are insecure about or is just bad about them. But they also have positive features about themselves.(Everyone does!) Those are things you have to find, hold onto and expand in order to smooth out the not so great stuff. I'm not saying you'll find your person even if you do something about that fatalism, that's not something I know and I don't think that everyone does get to have that, but you can't win the lottery if you don't ever buy the ticket. But it's a lot easier to put your worth in other's hands, that way you don't have to be responsible or have to really work on yourself, for you know, yourself, yeah? If you have decided to remain sitting in a swamp raining negativity then that is exactly what you will get.

My ex was a vagabond poet, so I may be one of the worse people to ask this to LOL

Also vacationing in Europe is a normal thing???

You just need it to be like your extreme hobbies, something fun. Try wrangling goats

Ski areas now have chairlift speed dating.

If one of you convinces me to try this, you have to help me explain who I am to whatever girl was expecting a vacation & got an earful of my math homework.

I suppose that might work out for me when I'm a bit more invested in sports again. For now I'm an engineering intern for a gigantic company. I did taxes & financial paperwork over my last weekend.

At least this means I have more money than I ever did before. My hobbies are a fantastic money pit. I'm planning on a new bike & new skis ASAP, possibly a new(ish) car to carry that stuff so I can improve my current one & definitely a new computer of some kind. I should get that new watch I was considering.

Part of me wants to buy an actual sports car. I'm not one to dress up but I could really go for some classy wheels.

Well I'd rather be a fun guy who spends a lot than to scrimp on fun just because I want to save more.

I'm starting a retirement fund & I'm 25. I would be insane not to reward myself as well.

Now I'm soliciting recommendations for chick magnet cars. Nothing terribly expensive please, though I'm curious what you think has some sex appeal.

So are you saying this is a barrier to something or is it just a fact of life I shouldn't worry about?
