Yes, agreed. It's very hard to generalize with such a diverse population of people, but I think an aspie characteristic that seems to apply across the board is the honesty (Unless someone would like to correct me?). Again, this can be either good or bad depending on the situation.
I know that as far as it comes to clothes and stuff I don't generally blend in, because i don't seem to have a sense of dress coordination and tend to pick out brightly coloured things because I like bright colours (things that often don't match - a.k.a. a bright blue top with a red ski vest over it and multi-coloured earrings is a good example).
I think the thing about growing up surrounded by neurotypically influenced values is a very interesting concept. I often find I don't actually know how to communicate with other aspies because the only form of communication that I know and have learned after years of drilling by my parents and imitating those around me is NT communication.
