I'm tempted to add "rare and unattainable".

Could we have that again, but in plain English? :)

We're f*****g nutters :twisted:

Haha, but seriously, I think we are immediately drawn to people we can relate to...and Asperger's seems to be something serious to relate to, you know?
I am in a relationship with an Asperger's guy and although we haven't been together for long I can safely say it works well...but everyone is different.

See, that's what I'm hoping to find. Someone to relate to, who's normal (at least, "normal" relative to me).
It's damned difficult.

Well...it can't be too difficult, there are plenty of aspie women here, one is sure to live kind of near you. Not that you should try and force it to work or anything, just it might be worth a try eh. This is where I met my guy afterall.

Yes, agreed. It's very hard to generalize with such a diverse population of people, but I think an aspie characteristic that seems to apply across the board is the honesty (Unless someone would like to correct me?). Again, this can be either good or bad depending on the situation.

I know that as far as it comes to clothes and stuff I don't generally blend in, because i don't seem to have a sense of dress coordination and tend to pick out brightly coloured things because I like bright colours (things that often don't match - a.k.a. a bright blue top with a red ski vest over it and multi-coloured earrings is a good example).

I think the thing about growing up surrounded by neurotypically influenced values is a very interesting concept. I often find I don't actually know how to communicate with other aspies because the only form of communication that I know and have learned after years of drilling by my parents and imitating those around me is NT communication.

Maybe it's worth a try. I'm in no great rush and I know I have things in my life I need to address other than AS.
I might have a shot at it sooner or later, but... we'll see.

I don't know about the rest of the AS girls, but I'll tell you that when they say that Asperger's is like an extreme version of male brain, I believe it.

I don't understand women. Even though I am one. I don't understand why they nag. I don't understand why they say to a guy "Get off that computer/TV/whatever and PAY ATTENTION TO ME/GO DO SOME HOUSEWORK" I'm more of a "let em play!" type. Heck, I'm as likely to sit in front of the TV/Computer. I hate dresses and uncomfortable "good" clothes. I hate shopping, and I hate the telephone. When I hear a woman try to robot a man around I get really angry. (and also if I hear a man trying to robot a woman around).

All I know is how I am. So here is what I've noticed 8) :

- look like Asperger males;
- have reactions that seem typical of NT males (e.g. need for silence and loneliness, don't talk much);
- don't follow fashion trends, but try to wear clothes that are a little feminine even though very simple;
- always dress in black and jeans;
- never wear jewels (gives me the feeling of being a Christmas tree, no offense to girls who wear);
- used to wear make-up on a daily basis but stopped everything when I learned what terrible tests they made on animals for our vanity's sake;

- don't gossip;
- keep quiet as much as I can EXCEPT with boyfriend (don't know why);
- people told me that I was sweet, i.e. I do things softly in order not to rush people and in order not to do any noise at all;
- very sincere and frank, sometimes even unvoluntarily blunt;
- cannot classify people into "good" and "bad" categories, hence forgive too quickly and too often;

- show absolutely no emotion : have very little facial expression, though hypersensitive;
- might seem "robotic" (as I read somewhere in this forum) from the outside and I think it doesn't quite attract men and I want to stress on this : THIS IS ONLY AN APPEARANCE! as far as I'm concerned, all that I lack is the social skills to show a man that I'm interested or respond a man's signals, but in private, I think that I'm quite like a normal girl, I mean I need hugs and kisses like a normal girl, even though there are moments where I need not to be touched or not to talk, but these are not the major part. Tony Attwood says in his book that most of the time, aspies have trouble making their partner happy cause they don't need as much contact as neurotypicals. but he also says that some aspies may go to the opposite extreme, and need too much affection.

So I say, boys, beware of appearances! 8)

What are aspie girls like? We all kick ass. Every single one of us. We're great at camouflage. We can jump from high places and land feet-first. None of us chew with our mouths open. We all have the ability to make swords suddenly appear in our hands, seemingly out of thin air. We always manage spread butter evenly all over our toast. We're also shapeshifters. If an aspie male ever saw our true forms, they would be permanently blinded by our otherworldly beauty. Just so you know.

This I can confirm.
