The question was "Why are women grossed out by the male body." Yes, I know. The premise is being challenged. I'm arguably uglier than average, but the average guy as far as I'm aware is NOT Magic Mike.

Do women like men with moobs, shag carpets on both sides, and a spare tire or two?

Women, by contrast, can be "voluptuous" and still be attractive. You don't carry the same "ick" factor that men do. So unless you can honestly say you can't get enough of (someone like) me, I'm not sure I understand where you're going with this.

Not all women are repulsed by fat men. Not all men are attracted to fat women.

And yet no matter how much we try to explain we aren't, some people will never grasp this fact.

Last post here: I'm a heterosexual female. I'm not attracted to the female body and its lumps, bumps, and curves. I'm attracted to a fit male body with lean muscle. Never will I be more attracted to a woman than I am to my husband.

The rest of you can debate whatever remote things you want, but this is my final word.

Maybe its just my experiences and the younger generation,.but In agree with AbgrlRho.

It really seems like men are.more capable of being attracted to the body sexually of an average, typical, flabby woman than the average pudgy.man.

Evrrytine I ever heard women actually appreciate the male body, they have the male model look, always the unrealistic and difficult to attain flat stomach and bulging 6 pack abs and biceps.

NEVER an average guy with a bit of a belly.

But I can't help thinking more.men would be attracted to the woman's body BEFORE she even lost weight then women would be to this man's body:

Would just as many women be attracted to this mans body than men would be to the womans before picture, assuming they both have equally attractive faces to the opposite sex?

Both female pics are attractive. I take no issue with either.

The male pic? That could easily be me if he had a lot more hair on him. I'm a freakin' beast.

I think both are attractive too.

But If the man cut the belly and got 6 pack abs and.more toned arms, is there really going to be an EQUAL amount of women who take no issue with both of the mans pics and women who found him attractive in both cases?

More to the point: how many of those (hypothetical) women who say they find him attractive (before losing weight/toning abs) would actually go out with him?

"Grossed out" is a poor choice of words.

It would be better to say it seems a lot of women TOLERATE her mans body and, while they aren't attracted to his body, they don't find it repulsive either. And they value what he DOES with His body to her rather than what his body actually is in itself.

And they place more value on his face and personality.

Some girls have said to me when they firdtmet their boyfriend they found him 'kinda ugly' but once she fell for his pesonality, humor, good hygiene and style of dress she 'became' attracted to his body too.

There's a BIG difference between that and being very turned on by a random woman's body who doesn't show her face in the photo and you know nothing of her personality, humor, rtc.

Sorry kdm, but I agree with AngelRho and Outrider in that.

Men are by far - by far - more diversified in what they consider hot and sexy looking than most women do.

Just check the porn sites for men; there are female pornstar of all body types, skinny, curvy, fat... you name it.
And even more racially diversified, Asian, white, brunette, Blacks, blondes... you name it.

Not the same for male pornstars.

Compare this to the covers of erotic books for women; ALL men on these covers have the same one body type - and 99% of them are Whites too - , like the Magic Mike bod type.

It is so undeniably obvious.

So no, it's not fair to say that the "curvy blonde model" to men type is the equivalent to "Magic Mike type" to women.

And the dad bod type is just a new hyped recent variation that is getting some attention, good, but it's just an additonal one bod type - you (women in general) still lack a lot of diversity in this matter.

And, looking at my Facebook page, the vast majority of my female friends are not married to men that look anything at all like the men on the cover of romance novels....

Same here. All sorts of men. Fat, thin, tall, short, bald, hairy, the list goes on and on.

Very true. I managed somehow to get married and reproduce. So I'm not saying that ugly dude = condemned to loneliness forever. It's just there's more to attractiveness than the physical appearance alone.

Dudes are gross. It doesn't mean we're hopeless.

I showed my wife the Magic Mike posters and she was revolted. Yet she claims she finds ME attractive. So go figure...

The vast majority of people have realistic standards. I knew one girl who was perpetually single because she was looking specifically for a Channing Tatum type of a guy though.

Even an aspie would know a correct answer to that question.
