all i care about is looks and an accepting personality. all the rest of that garbage i dont care. i dont care if shes insecure, self conscious or whatever. she's a human being and people have problems. men dont reject women because of natural problems such as insecurity and so forth, because it doesnt matter, we are all people, and we are all self conscious

Just a stab at an interpretation here, but maybe it came across as "dominating." Especially w/o the non-verbal cues to tell her otherwise. I.e. have you ever seen/heard someone who corrects other people more as a social means to "always be right" rather than to actually just correct the information?

Ugh, I think I'm explaining this really badly... A few days ago I corrected someone about something because it was part of a legal settlement and meeting the terms was important (note: I was on this person's side). Well, they took that as me telling them that they were incompetent, and stormed off. My intention was to make sure everything was going to go smoothly, but for them it was more about their ego feeling hurt. (some people say only males have fragile egos, but that's baloney)

I am very pedantic -- and most certainly also female. Anyone who can outdo my pedantry gets my immediate interest. There's a guy on a mailing list we have for organising geek get-togethers, and he corrects me ON THE MAILING LIST where everyone can read it! I absolutely love it when he does that.

FWIW, I think you'd find better companionship from an Aspie woman.

(Oh, eh, that was not intended as a solicitous or flirtatious statement, though. My heart has been checked out of the library.)

An important thing that she said was that you are not her type. So what? She likes different people, that's all. You also have preferences, I am sure. Not everyone wants to get an education in etymology whilst flirting. Some people, however, do.
