Not quite. If the majority of people you find irritating or childish or stupid or w/e, then why should you lower your standards so you'll get one just to inevitably break up/divorce later? Why bother putting yourself through that kind of heartache and pain, not to mention possible monetary troubles.
Now, if it's solely physicall attractiveness then yes, I'd agree with you wholeheartedly jaw. But personality wise, there's probably about 1-2% of the worlds female population I'd be attracted to myself, same as possibly Eggman, but I'm not sure whether he's refering to personality or physicality.
Also, 1% of roughly 4 billion would be about 40 million, not hundreds of millions. Yeah, that's still a ton, but 40 vs 100's is a rather large difference.
Finally someoen seems to get it. Thank you. Hearing how great I am and how shallow I am from people with no idea what I think of myself, or what I look for really says more about what those people are like then me.

OK, now I get it as well. Yes, I do believe that, personality wise, it is very difficult to find someone with whom you are compatible with. I can be very picky when it comes to personalities. I have found that, from experience, settling for someone who is not wholly compatible with you just leads to a lot of emotional pain and heartbreak as the relationship is, pretty much, doomed from the start. So I think that, Eggman, you are wise to maintain certain standards with regards to personality as you are saving yourself a hell of a lot of bother. That makes you human in my opinion. It is best to try and follow a path in which you will be happy and saves you a lot of pain, particularly when it comes to letting other people into your life.....

If were talking compatibility, then yes, "1 in 20" is pretty good. But the way you worded it, it sounds like you only find 1 in 20 women to be physically attractive, in which case, you need to loosen up your standards a little.
But, with a vaguely worded topic like this, you can't really expect most people to know what you're saying, can ya?
