JUST after the money? Of course not. But many males go to bars/clubs and don't look at "personality" but gravitate towards attractive women. The problem with that is looks are very fleeting and reveal little to nothing of the substance beneath. I can guarantee 100% that looks will fade.

I can't say I would be interested in women I can't look at without realising how ugly she is, but I have to problem with dating women with fairly plain or average looks. What matters to me most, is their attitude towards life, their interests and their personality and I guess I'm looking for a woman with that same perspective.

To earn/keep money takes a little bit more. Either intelligence, family connections or hard work. Money is definately an appetizing bait.

I know... which can be quite a pain in the @$$ if you're looking for a job as well... especially considering I once had a well-paid job with a company car and I was living together for about 3 years with an ex.

Interesting how things start to get heated when it starts to look like a male vs female contest.

Interesting how, in my experience, people just as often pursue women for their money as they do men for their looks.

Interesting how both behaviors are discouraged for the same basic reason - looks and money are something that people tend to grow to take for granted in time. When you've been with someone for a few years or so, their personality ends up making a bigger difference in how happy you make each other than what you look like or how much extra money you have.

I guess that's because both sexes ironically feel exploited, abused and dominated by the other sex.

I've encountered many men focussed on the looks of women but I can't think of anyone actually caring for how much money a woman makes. Intelligence does play a role but money never seems to be an issue for men (at least not in my experience).

With regards to women going for men after their looks, I'd say there's truth to that although it seems to me that clothing style, hair style and personal hygiene are far more important than whether he has a six pack of abs or whether he looks like Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp. For men, on the other hand, looks are just that : breasts, ass, facial features, weight, ...

Get yourself some clothes and a haircut that you think suits your personality. Keep your hygiene in check, and use a good deodorant.

So if I have a "Dark, Macabre personality I should gravitate towards wearing Victorian style clothing? Count me in XD. Too bad there aren't really any places around here that sells mens clothing in that style, else id do it. And I don't do internet shopping, I don't trust it at all.
