The most important thing you (as an aspie) can do in a relationship is try to understand your partner, NT or not, and put in as much effort as they are doing for you.
Personally I think any relationship where someone is refusing to change (not even willing-to-try-but-finding-it-difficult, but actually stating from the outset that they won't) is going to be an uphill battle.
You can't expect an NT to change their views and accomodate your perspective if you don't do the same for them. Otherwise it's not a relationship. It's a parent-child role.
