Semantics. The word equal has many different meanings. Equal opportunities do not require equal aptitudes or enthusiasms or qualities or whatever.

But equal opportunities =/= equal people.

So you think equality = sameness?

I think equal = substitutable. This is taught from the most basic of math classes.

Each individual has their own special gifts that make them better than the person next to them. But no person is better than another because of those random factors. Everyone has an equal inborn right to do what makes them happy, and no one should have authority to keep them from trying to be happy.

Part of why I don't believe on love. Every woman is just as replaceable as the next. Guys are just as replaceable.

all the person means is that from an outsiders perspective, we're all just equal flesh bags crawling around on the same rock.

Of course we're all equal, it's just that some of us are more equal than others.

The word "equal" has a specific meaning. The words "equal opportunities" has a different, specific meaning.

As Mark Twain pointed out, there's a world of difference between lightning and lightning bugs.

You're right, there wouldn't be. Which can only mean there is at least one person who thinks themself to be higher than somone else. as long as one person like this exists, there will be problems. now maybe it wouldnt be so bad if it was just one person. problem is pretty much everyone feels themself higher than somone else at some point.

its like communism; it can't be realised effectively unless EVERY nation in the world is communist. this isnt to say the OP's idea cannot be achieved. but its not an easy dream to realise...

...still, if you work hard enough at that dream of yours you'll probably make a difference somehow.

p.s.
i just realised a lot of people could imagine my avatar speaking for me so with my current handsome, sarcastic, genius programmer avatar, that last comment may have come across as sarcastic slightly...

which it wasnt at all :)

Some people work very hard and sometimes even give their lives to ensure the weak do get treated equally.

But most of them don't
