Is it reasonable that my ex-boyfriend is mad at me?

He sounds like a pansy if hes upset you asked on yahoo if you may be bi. Your past is none of his business unless you choose to tell him.
Well this is 50/50.
To get upset over that she is bi, and act like such an idiot is ridicules, yes.
But the case was, that she had told him, she wasn't.
And he found out she lied.
Now, i dont know WHAT part he is sad about, but if it's the lying part i can understand.
And i also dont have any "respect" or whatever for the OP as she lied to her then bf now ex.
I myself hate liers alot to, and could be ticked off deppending on what it is.
If he however got sad because she is/was bi, then you're right.
However it's also stupid that he keeps on shoving everything from her past into her face and dosn't just let go of it.

Yes lying is not a good way to found a relationship either but you have to look at the case in question.
I mean she said she didn't like a friend in middle school - that was the lie i noticed in this thread, and it should not matter because it was so long ago and hes an absolute tosser to even ask her about something that long ago or get annoyed over it.
Did she actually say to him "No, I am not Bi"? If she did, I missed that and sorry - because she probably should have said "yes, I am". But he was a dick to pry about a cousin. and gross.
tbh I think you should not have gotten involved with him in the first place if he cries over someone being bi - which he must do as you refused to tell him for some reason.

I would have been a bit pissed off that you'd lied about never having a crush on your friend. Honesty is vital to me in a relationship, and perhaps a better response would have been to tell him to stop asking and refuse to give an answer in the first place.
But you're not dating anymore. He has no right to pry or ask questions now that you've broken up. (you could argue he never did, but I do think it's important to be honest about the past when you're dating someone).
He sounds very controlling and like he still thinks you're 'his' property. I would block him and refuse to contact him again if I were you.
edit: I answered 'maybe' just because if I asked my bf something, I would hope he would tell me the truth, not a 'white lie'. Even if I found out after we broke up, I don't know if I would feel any less betrayed.
If he's asking questions that are probing, it's because he had trust issues. Lying to someone with trust issues just makes things worse. Perhaps if you explained things as you have to us you might salvage the friendship (if you want it) but it does sound like he still wants to be more than friends.

Yeah he has trust issues. His ex-girlfriend cheated on him and other things of that nature. But I felt as if I had to pay for her mistakes you know? He never trusted me in the first place, he pretty much trusts no human except his brother. He doesn't hate bisexual people or anything like that, but he was really unfair to me when he would ask me questions, and a lot of the things he said were out of line; almost as if I were an animal willing to screw any good looking person I saw.
When I was with him I didn't feel as if I was bisexual. I did lie to him about liking my friend when I was in middle school because I know he would never let me talk to her if he knew that. She is one of those once in a lifetime friends. She stuck with me through years of heavy depression and being bullied. And if he knew that I liked her years ago, he would probably always ask me questions any time I was hanging out with another female (family or not) in an interrogative manner like he did about my male friends. I'm the type of person that could never cheat on someone, but I guess that one lie made all of his suspicious resurface about the past.

He's an atheist and judging you for your sexuality!? Why, because being bi is a SIN? Bottom line: Ex lover, says he wants to be a friend, but snoops into personal information and judges you for it. If he's just a friend, why is he checking up on you, and how could this information possibly 'hurt' him in any way? If he's just a 'friend', what does he care if you make out with a giraffe? Its no skin off his nose one way or the other. This person is not your friend, and is an immature, nosy, selfish ass to boot.
Of course, if you were to learn any lesson from this, it should probably be to stop revealing personal information that you wouldn't want someone holding against you, on the internet.
Willard has a point. If he feels this "shocked" and "hurt" about information related to your love-life, it's obvious he was interested in more than just friendship.
Of course, he may just get over it... If you can get him to realize that snooping into your life isn't making him any happier, and it certainly isn't making you happier, he might give you some space.
I'm working on trying to talk to him. At first he wouldn't talk to me at all, but now he's opening up to it. I actually showed him this thread, because maybe you guys can help me to help him see another point of view. I really care about him and I want him to be happy. He's not a bad guy, just some of the things he does are a little meh..I don't know a word for it. He started smoking again and he lost a lot of weight since we broke up and I'm worried about him. So I really hope he'll let me be here for him. I'm the one who asked if we could be friends when he contacted me. But if he still has romantic feelings for me then I guess it seems unfair to ask him for that?

Daemonic-Jackal - Hmm I don't really understand the 2nd paragraph. When I was with him I didn't think I was bi. I had that crush on my best friend in middle school but I realized that a lot of teenagers or preteens go through that. I thought it was just a phase. When I started to get more exposed to the world I realized that sometimes people can't control who they fall in love with. So that's what led me to ask the question on yahoo. I'll try to get more info from him cause I really want to understand his perspective. Thank you.
Ok I'll try explain it better. Lets say your ex bf claimed he wasn't bi-sexual then you read an answer to a question on a quiz where he implied he was. You'd probably feel pretty aggrieved that he hadn't been honest with you about that whilst you were in a relationship with him. Then you'd start wondering if the reasons he gave for breaking up with you were genuine. Then you start wondering what else he was hiding and eventually would come the snowball effect where you would start questioning everything about him. See what I am getting at? His mindset about you is likely to be similar to the example I have given here.
If I was in his position, I would certainly want to ask questions, although I certainly wouldn't have approached the matter the way he did. You are still better off without him.
Ohh yeah I see that now. The thing is that I never thought I was bisexual when I was together with him. I was totally set on him. The part I lied about was liking my friend in middle school. But that's still a lie so I guess it's just as bad. It's just hard to be totally honest with someone when they can't really handle the truth so-to-speak. Thanks for giving my insight on how his thought process might be. I'll try talking to him about this.

I lied about liking my friend in middle school. It was a long long time ago and I thought it would cause more trouble for him to know the truth about it. On my other reply I delve a little more into that. If I thought I was bi when I was in a relationship with him, I would have told him (no matter what kind of consequences it brought on). And the cousin thing really pissed me off, because she's like a sister to me and either way I don't think I could ever fall for a family member, let alone think about them in a sexual manner.
He's a really sensitive guy, and recently he admitted to being insecure and unstable. I think a lot of women like a little sensitivity in a man but this has gone too far, it's like an overdose. It's unhealthy for him, and it's starting to seem as if he drowns himself in negativity. I want him to be happy, and he wants to be happy, but most happy people don't live in the past, and they try to think more of the positive instead of the negative.

Forget the story, history, whatever. He can be upset - human beings are emotional animals and they get upset by all kinds of things.
At this point, I think you should tell him that you can't be friends. Friends don't judge friends. He may see it as trying to "help" you, but it's obviously not. Go find some friends that like you for who you are (if you don't already have some).

They do. I've judged friends of mine who have cheated on their partners.
But I think this guy is being too sensitive - obsessing over something stupid in middle school. Did you explain to him that you thought he would react negatively if you told him the truth?

I explained it to him a lot of times

I call them spies. If they had to snoop in your business, then they had something against you or had a suspicion about you or didn't trust you. Another reason could be curiousity and they wanted to learn more about you or see what kind of person you are.

After reading this I am not sure anymore. In fact it's those type of people I don't trust because then I end up getting hurt by them because I find them to be judgmental and they take things the wrong way and they never listen. So I avoid them like a plague. One bad experiance was enough and I find they are messed up people and act like bullies and they can never see they were the bad guy.
