Feeling as though I somehow "need" love has been an essential part of my nature since I was a little kid. I really hate that part of me because of all the despair it causes in me and because I know exactly why it's there but can't seem to get it out.

My perspective on this is a little different...because I am married to an aspie man ( I am not an aspie) I love my husband like crazy...I literally kiss the ground he walks on and I admire SO much about him....I am wildly attracted to him and want to be close to him....He says he loves me back and he tries....He is kind, considerate, gentle and an all around wonderful man....but I still don't FEEL his love alot of the time because I don't SEE his emotion...He has a hard time with touch and affection..It depends on a number of factors....So...you can be married and lonely/feel like you need love too. I can definitely identify with the statement "I need love"...... :( ...But as long as I have the strength and the love left in my body/mind for this man I will keep on trying. He is worth it.

Human love isn't the same as pet love. But then, i don't have a pet. Love is a mix of friendship, admiration, concern, trust etc. Actually, there are many sorts of love & we don't have all the same concept. iF two people who love each other prefer differnt sorts of love then it's cruel.

Wanting and needing are two different things.

Needing, is if you don't have it you'll die.

Wanting, is a yearning for, but you'll survive if you don't have it.

You might not physically die from a loss of love, but it can make you stop being YOU. Your "self" becomes someone else, you start psychologically going a little funny around the edges....

That's what makes it a need. Not that you'll DIE, but that YOU'll die.

You LITERALLY kiss the ground he walk on?

I think you mean you FIGURATIVELY kiss the ground he walks on. The opposite of what you typed.

If not... post pics!
