No, as supreme ruler of the milky way galaxy I hereby revoke your inalienable right to free speech. No seriously though I do want to help and I do desire love...and I HATE MYSELF FOR IT!

Its not revoking your right to speech but asking you too keep the comments to yourself if you have nothing to add to the discussion(OP has been through some problems at L&D lately(a few menbers were banned because of harassing her) and I doubt your comments are helping).

You seriously need to get off your high horse, you are not a mod or admin here and I welcome any judgement a responsible authoritative has for me and apologize to them for their headache. BTW I was responding to you saying that I, Pistonhead revoke YOUR right, not the other way around. Brush up on your reading comprehension, especially if you can't make sense of things after you've bolded them.

You don't think I know what Erisad has dealt with? I WAS PART OF THAT! A part that received no moderator warning nor punishment because I don't blatantly and purposely break any ENFORCED rules. I might add that Erisad remains friendly towards me for the most part.

Oh and where the hell is your advice? I think I offered more advice in my first post than everyone else here put together. In the mean time 3+ of you just want to pick apart at it rather than contributing any of that wonderful positive energy that you have (that is sarcasm! you're all negative!)

My advice can be found on my first post and its to be herself(its not the greatest advice ever I know but I have had relartionship problems with girls that at the first couple of dates acted on way and afterwards they change entirely their behaviour).

Im going to stay away from this board for a while, not because you said so but because this is the second problem Ive had on this board today and I have an exam coming up this evening so I should focus on studying and not discussing with other people online.

It's good advice no doubt about it. Though it's so common nobody can really learn from it because they've already been exposed to it. I mean maybe through beating it into their heads an extra time or two it might help them apply it.

I'm going to sit on WP waiting for responses to other topics and wait for exhaustion to sink in and take me to sleep. I have nothing better to do aside from possibly go for a bike ride.

I'm happy for you that you've got this date! Congratulations, yay, I hope it goes well for you! :)

Jitters are so normal. As far as advice... I don't know if this will apply to you, but I know that I get really really nervous, so much so that just taking a deep and focusing on relaxing is really the best thing to do. If I'm relaxed, I can pick up on cues better and think of things to say easier. If I don't worry about myself then I do pretty well. It's when I start worrying about myself and how I'm doing that things seem to go downhill. So, keep your relaxed focus on him (it's a he, right? I can't remember) and that should help.

I hope you guys have a good time!

Flame wars, oh noes. I should've brought more flame shields. >.<

Uhh...actually the friends that are going to be there are a decent mix of guys and girls we'll be meeting at the restaurant. We're all members of the Renaissance Club and he's into the Rennie life too so there should be some form of conversation. In fact HE suggested that I bring friends to make it easier for me. :)

Never mind on the stuff I said about the friends thing. There is a shared interest and he's very considerate and what not, you get bonus points. *Adam West voice* I'm sure you "rennies" would love to hear me say chivalry isn't dead at this point but I won't give you what you want

Lol, chivalry isn't dead, it's just on life support. Granted, if a man in club treats a woman badly, like abuse, cheating or something like that, you will be shunned and possibly punished for it based on the severity of the offense. I guess we take chivalry seriously.

On the line of similar interests, he likes videogames and anime too like myself and a good portion of my friends that will be present. So there probably won't be a shortage of conversation. We're a very chatty bunch.

Adam Weeeeeeeeeeest! XD

He never went to the Ren faire in Lancaster so he's hoping that maybe we could go sometime. So I could have a second (or whenever) date lined up already if this one goes well. That's one of the reasons why I'm nervous. I know he's a pudgy dude himself so he shouldn't be too taken aback by my weight, unless he wasn't really looking at the pictures too closely. He has his body type listed as "curvy" on his profile though, so at least he can joke about his weight. Even so, I am afraid that I won't be as interesting or appealing IRL as compared to chatting online or texting. Either that or I'll clam up and be too scared to say anything, I did that on the first date with my most recent ex about 2 years ago. That's why I want to bring my friends, they can start a conversation if I blank out. They all know I'm an aspie but he doesn't yet, I figured that was a discussion best saved for later. For now, I'd rather him think I'm quirky instead of being disabled.

Yeah, I do. I love my friends. It's weird though, I struggled with date ideas with my ex. Probably because I didn't know much of his not-sex-related interests that we could do together. I guess it's easier since this guy and I have similar interests, which helps. ^_^

Expending sometime chatting before going on a date is usually a great idea(there are a few cases where you find you have nothing in common with the other person and you never go on a date but this are exceptions).

Thats one of the reasons why so many girls like to be friends with a male before going on a date, it goes better when you know each other well.

Don't worry, I won't flame you.

Well, we've chatted online and with texting. I know it's not the same but it's better than going on a complete blind date. I usually prefer being friends with a guy before going out but I'm trying something different and seeing how that goes. >.>
