It could be someone who has let themselves go. But it could also be someone who is battling an eating disorder. Or someone who is going through a really rough time and is turning to food. Or someone with Cushings or hypothyroid.

As I said, there are certainly mental and physical health issues that leave one predisposed to being overweight, but that does not change the basic arithmetic of caloric intake versus work output. Merely that some have to work harder to rise above their condition. Just as I could accept being a social loner my whole life and feel sorry for myself, or I can find happiness in being who I am, and keep trying to find people to hang with, so can people who are fat choose to accept their condition, or do something to change and improve their lifestyle.

And if they've turned to eating to combat depression, well that in its own way is problematic, because it suggests someone turning to unhealthy things to combat mental illness, and I don't desire that in the least.

I've battled depression, especially after I was laid off. You know what I did? I sought counselling, and I went for a run. Whenever I'm down, I turn to physical activity, to think, to keep energy levels up, and keep the natural endorphins flowing. I need no drugs or food.

This. If you were really over her, you wouldn't take any notice of her and she would create no emotions in you. You aren't over her. Also whats with the dumping you? Aren't you always saying no girl would ever date you? Clearly you were lying here.

Also, although you seem to have a slightly better attitude towards dating, thinking your own sh*t doesn't stink doesn't work either.

As for being fat, well, people deal with stuf fin different ways. Just because running is easy for you to cope with emotions it's not how a lot of people do it.

I find this song astonishingly pertinent (in addition to being profoundly cool)
