When I worked at a resteraunt half the people there went to high school with me. There were four girls I knew there who were dateless in high school but at the resteraunt they all met someone on the job the first month they were there. Get a part time job after school you will meet people from other schools and those who are just out of high school starting college. Widen your exposure to new potential dates and make some money its a win win. Besides it looks good on a resume when you can say you worked your way through high school.

Nice BAD advice.
Setting her up to meet pick up artists (PUA). The guys that don't notice you ARE the guys you should go out with. Woman need to start convos with men and ASK them on a date more often, the guy rarely says no :)

btw unless you post your weight and height, you can't just say that you are beautiful. Weight and height are the 2 biggest factors for men in deciding just how beautiful you are. Of course there are exceptions. You probably set your expectations way too high.

There was a girl when I was 17 I was with for a little while I did not notice her until she started talking to me. I was known for being "shy" when I was in high school so she said that she had better make the first move.

Yeah, I didn't have my first kiss until I was 19, my second year in college and didn't lose my virginity until this past November. You don't want high school guys as a lot of them are too immature to appreciate a girl like you.

Replaced - f**k that. A girl can be beautiful whether she's thin or plus sized. Guys that judge a girl's worth based on her weight are scum that aren't worth talking to anyway.

I was invisible to guys throughout my schooling years too. This I actually preferred to the alternative, which I experienced when I went to college/uni (went from one extreme to the other). If guys in general don't notice you, it's easier to observe THEM and shift through the garbage - a.k.a. find a guy who's attracted to your personality and not just your appearance.

what Todesking and replaced said.

there are lots of girls i knew in highschool who i'm sure wondered why no one noticed them. one of them indirectly asked me why i never asked her out (i can't remember if she ever had a bf in highschool). most all of them ended up in relationships by 2nd year of college.

Anyway, most people didn't have a GF/BF until the end of highschool. Be patient you're just a kid. Nothing to worry about opportunities will arise. Don't change yourself for the sake of people noticing you. You will find someone who will fall for you eventually because who you are.

What? People aren't overweight just because they eat too much. Some people have a sh***y metabolism, genetics, medical problems, hormonal imbalances, etc. I can't believe the amount of ignorance present in this forum. D:

Americans eat like s**t, and that's why they are fat.
Someone who doesn't care to or can't manage their weight can't manage the rest of their lives.
Can't stop eating Mcdonalds? That food is just as addictive as crack. might as well be a drug addict in my opinion, especially if you talk about reducing your intake of fast food. yet you keep going back...

Wow, you're just ignorant. Not every American is fat. I'm an overweight American and I HATE fast food. So instead of stereotyping us, you might actually want to think logically for a change. :/

Well, THIS is getting out of hand.

The fact is that there are certain features considered attractive, and other features that aren't. While weight isn't factored into this, things like facial structure and body proportion are programed into our genome. That said, given the way the world has developed, It is usually reasonable to say that there is someone for everyone.

I think that before you complain about what others like and don't like, you should first become what you want to be, or at least as close as you can; there are limits. There is nothing wrong with becoming healthy, if that is the issue, or changing your appearance from normal to something simple but more eye-catching. If you eat too much or too little, there is nothing wrong with fixing it, and you could choose not to despite health concerns. Either way, you can find someone who will accept you. The point I am trying to make is "Be the change."

For example, I am presently about 50 lbs overweight. Around new year's I was diagnosed with allergic asthma, and given a cutting-edge treatment that will eventually eradicate all of my allergy/asthma problems. My plan was to use this summer to exercise more and lose the weight, a plan which failed last year but did yield he diagnoses. Instead, early spring, I found myself unable to bend my left knee. Medical history aside, I realize that I am not very attractive at present, and do not expect much attention. I have many years left to live, so finding a mate is not a dire concern.

This is harder than I thought.

I am not saying that people who can't get dates are ugly for some reason. Attraction can be very complex. My point is that there is nothing wrong with taking an objective look at yourself, and considering some changes, be they physical OR behavioral, which hasn't really been mentioned in this thread. That said, it wasn't mentioned by the starter either, so I suppose you reap what you sow.

In mating pool studies, it was found that people would pair within one point (on a scale from 1 to 10) of their own (computer-analyzed) attractiveness quotient - consistently.

So there you have it. My logic solves everything nothing.

A food system combining subsidization of calorie-dense, nutrient-deficient foods over nutrient-dense, low-calorie ones, hormone and metabolism-altering chemicals being consumed in mass quantities, vast socio-economic class differences including disparities of race and sex which affect healthy, fresh food availability, and so on.
johansen wrote:

No.
It most certainly isn't.
Many of them eat like "sh**".
Some of them do not.
Many from both groups are overweight if not obese, and this is from a combination of factors that are widely-acknowledged.

If only one could willpower their weight to a certain number, I doubt anyone would be obese- implying a weight is a character flaw is a bit absurd.

This is offensive.
johansen wrote:

It's designed to be.

Which is it? Fat people are suffering from addiction, or they are moral and character failures for being a certain weight?
You can't have ignorance both ways.

More like facial symmetry and body proportion.

Also, hatred of fat as fat is an extremely new phenomenon as far as human evolution is concerned.
Abdominal fat is acknowledged as more unhealthy than hip or thigh fat in women, for instance.
That being said, I'm an extreme hourglass shape with very little to no tummy fat whether I am (at 5'1") 200 lbs or starve myself down to 100,
a biological commonality ignored by many who invoke "health and fertility" drives to defend homogenized cultural beauty whims,
as is the fact that many people are quite unhealthy at weights below what would be classified as overweight if not obese for their height (according to BMI), hence their need to go on dangerous diets and exercise obsessively to reach such a weight, let alone maintain it.

A substantive discussion of physical features as indicative of fertility and access to resources in the biological sense would, if anything, point to a paradigm where fat is extremely attractive, and the oldest depictions we have of the human (female) form are consistent with this. Obesity is in modern times associated with unhealth because the two are often-resultant of unhealthy lifestyles, and hence are very commonly co-morbid in many individuals, but any one size barring absolute extremes does not represent a disease-state. It is quite clear that there is incredible variation among individuals which occurs naturally, and this variation is not magically-absent in the genes affecting body size and shape.

This. Also the distribution of fat on the body is an indicator of sex. The location of fat deposits are the most easily recognizable features that can be seen at any distance.

I went on one date during high school.

It was a dance, and I asked the guy.

I feel your pain.
