MollyTroubleTail, weren't you saying that you could walk into any room and get a guy to date you within 15 minutes? it makes me wonder what kind of impression you're giving off on a regular basis.

MollyTroubleTail isn't the first woman I heard (or read) who says a such thing, I knew few who boast about their ability to get any guy anytime and anywhere (sadly enough, almost any female human can do this), but those women are often narcissists who believe that they are irresistible goddesses walking on earth.

Plus, I think you pointed out the real problem.

So you wouldn't at least try to see if she wanted a banana up her ass? (j/k)

It might be worth asking male friends you trust, OP. Lonermutant is probably right here in that these men might be getting signals from you that you didn't intend and then wonder why you're not picking them up. It won't be obvious to you but it may be to them.

It seems to me as if she should have a better set of friends.

Women do, and it's often true yes. There is a certain demographic of women who are likely to appeal to 99.9% of men and there is a certain demographic of men who will... date anyone who hits on them.

For most women like this though, I've seen them throw the worst fits when they do finally get rejected. Hell hath no fury.

Still, I don't think it's right to blame the victim here. Crude is crude, and if it's unwanted then it's unwanted.

No victim-blaming here, it was just an off-topic post, check my first post here.

Besides, Molly has a history of bitterness and hostility toward men in her posts, so people have the right to wonder what's the cause of this as much as they have the right to wonder the causes of some of males' bitterness here toward women.

Yes - if they send off that message of being irresistible or 'easy', guys will pick up on it.

i doubt that *any* woman could do this. most women are just not that hot! (check out the women on public transit sometime. each woman is beautiful in her own way, but even judging from the comments of men on this forum those women are likely not hot enough for their tastes).

hypothetically though... let's just say for the sake of argument that it is possible... it seems to me that a woman would not know that she had that kind of power unless she has exercised it at some point, and i honestly don't get why a woman would ever want to do that. i think i am missing the point along the way somewhere.

but especially... why would a woman want to have that kind of power and then get upset when male friends want to have sex with her?

As a user said earlier, there an enough demographic of men who would f**k anything female ( and it's not only about desperation, some of those men would be the super desperate...some others would be taken but just sex maniacs)

I dunno, I might think of plenty of reasons and theories why she would want that power.
Go ask her :P.

ok.

MollyTroubleTail, you mentioned before that you are able to walk into a room and get a date in 15 minutes. is this because of some qualities you naturally possess or are you cultivating this talent, and if you ARE cultivating it.... why? it might be causing the unwanted attention you are receiving.

if it's just your natural attributes (or if you only suspect you could get dates like that but don't actually attempt to do it) then you might want to consider adjusting your pool of male friends so that you don't have to be the target of their attention. nobody wants to be the victim of unwanted advances, after all.

Especially when those advances turn into certain 'forced' advances.

I suspect that she will have to learn either not to seem too clingy or too seductive, or simply to avoid men.

Stop having conversations in the adult video store?

Honestly I don't know. I'd say it's related to your dress, the environment where you talk to these men, or maybe non-verbal sexy cues you don't realize you are giving off.

I've never come across anyone that obvious...I wasn't even aware they existed outside of weird fantasy. :?
I'd say a swift kick to the balls would sort that out...

Yes, or your tone of voice. It could really be a lot of things. Or it could be that these men are just creepy sods that you should avoid though.

One tip and from a fella: nip the behaviour decisively in the bud as soon as you can pinpoint it. If you don't, they'll get more and more persistent and possibly aggressive and obscene with it, because you're not making a proper stand. This depends on the circumstances of course.

Looking for insight as to mens' motivation and purpose in doing this:

I'll be discussing something with a man, and it will be going fine, a normal discussion about (say) chemistry or about canoeing or even about popsicles. All of a sudden, completely out of the blue, he will make a totally nonsense comment of a sexual nature that's unrelated to our discussion.

For example,

Me: It's so hot today that I ate three of those huge Freezies in a row, and froze my mouth. I guess that wasn't such a smart thing to do.

Him: Yeah, I heard that it's not uncommon for little kids to show up in emergency rooms with frostbite on their tongue in summertime. I'd love to f*ck you with a popsicle to cool you off.

Me: Why did you say that? Are you saying you want to talk about having sex with me, or are we still talking about frostbite?

At this point the man gets angry and acts irritated with me. I do not know why. I have suspected that perhaps he is trying to make a sort of crude sexual joke.....but if it's a joke, then where's the punchline? What is the humour in it? If it's not a joke, and he's really trying to initiate an interest in sexual activity, then why should he get angry when I ask whether he wants to discuss sex?

If we were discussing bananas, for example, and he said to me that he only likes them quite ripe and without a hint of green, and I replied by saying to him, "I know what you mean, green bananas have a funny texture and taste. By the way, I'd like to stick a nice, ripe banana up your *ss." Would the man enjoy that comment or think it's sexy of me to say it?

I don't understand this and it happens quite a lot, with many different men. Any insight as to the intentions of this odd behaviour, and the proper response? By the way, I am not offended by nor do I mind sexual comments in general. It's the way these comments are so sudden, odd, and inexplicable that's bothering me, plus the mens' angry/irritated responses to my asking what they meant.

The only time I've ever encountered situations like this has been on the bus or at bus stops when some rather shady inner city men of low socio-economic status had decided to harass me.

In each situation they would begin a rather one sided conversation on a seemingly innocent topic and then end it by making sexual comments towards me of the likes which I could not repeat here. I fathom these men were the product of upbringings marred by severe parental neglect.

I've yet to encounter such a situation with the average man.

Perhaps these men thought you were flirting with them and making innuendos and were simply responding to that.

Perhaps you misjudged the intentions of these men from the beginning.

Or perhaps they didn't actually say the things they did....I knew a man with schizophrenia who's first psychotic episode consisted of hallucinations in which women on the street randomly started insulting him.
