Feelings are just feelings, no explanation necessary.

In my case it was just a disconnect between my rational and emotional minds - this person was not on my rational romantic radar so I really didn't think it was possible.

I'm like that, too. I mean, slight exaggeration, but I do tend to have an easy heart. I'm not sure that I have lower standards than other people as so much as a need to find the good in just about everyone. After you do that, everything else just falls like dominoes sometimes ...

I've only had 4 crushes in my entire life, three of them were more like strong limerences , the last one was short-termed deep crush but ended up very badly. And no, I recall they happened gradually and not in a surprise way.

Currently IRL, I am not crushing on anyone.

However, at the church I attend services at,
this blonde girl who's the eldest daughter of the church band's lead guitarist
has been "checking me out" before, during, & after Mass and
I don't like it at all.

Ironically, when I was younger, shorter, and fatter,
it was very much vice-versa.

Here on Wrong Planet, there are many folks
I will admit I DO have a crush on.

This how I am, but I don't assume I'll fall for everyone I have regular contact with. Sometimes the pieces fit, sometimes they don't.
