However, polygamy has negative effects on society. If you observer the animal kingdom
, polygamous males are very aggressive, lazy, and wicked, such as lions. Birds who are often
monogamous work as a team to bring up their young. Polygamous society gives the advantage
to alpha males, non alpha males would have to be like alpha to get a partner and if they succeed
there is no intensive to settle down.

So men fill into two categories, non alpha cannot find partner to settle down with them, and
alpha with no intensive. And the child without a father. probably living in poverty. Fortunately
there is enough beta men to pay for alpha male children, but eventually they will die out.

Um...there are lots of problems with this...first off, who says WOMEN can't have more than one relationship???? Secondly, what's this "alpha male" stuff? Some women don't give a rat's rear whether a guy is an "alpha male" type or not, and I think that's probably LESS relevant among polyamorous women because they're not looking for all their eggs in one proverbial basket. Third, I support my own children, TYVM, and don't need alpha or beta males to do it (though help is great and very much appreciated from hubby/dad). You make a lot of assumptions here which don't hold water and then argue on their very flimsy basis that polyamory is bad for society. Hrmph.

This whole notion of alpha and beta males is ridiculous. Men are not dogs.

As long as everyone in the relationship is of age, and capable of consenting I don't care what people do in their spare time.

Granted, I've not tried it. but the idea just doesn't work for me personally. i am certainly not someone that likes to follow society's "default" expectations but one of the main things i look for in a relationship is its exclusivity

I was just thinking of this today. Never been in one, but I know some people who are and they seem to be perfect for the others in that relationship. I am not against it, but I don't want to be in one. The idea of someone valuing someone else as much as they do me in a relationship doesn't appeal to me.

I make observations based on what I know about evolution. Then I cross examine them with what people write on the internet. I also have some life experience. I am a single black man. I have been to many black clubs and bars where the woman vastly outnumber the men and the men that do go there have most likely are polygamous. Is this paradise. Not in my experience. Had better luck in clubs where man to woman ratio is more equal.

One observation you can make, is that men with asperger syndrome are more common in monogamous cultures, and less common in polygamous ones

Here is an interesting link

On personal basis( and not a society one ) I guess there isn't a problem , until someone gets pregnant. Then things get interesting.

You have failed to explain why it is ridiculous. Do you have any links that support the idea that humans do not follow the same laws as animals.
Or that point out that discussion about alpha and beta males amongst the scientific community is futile.

I just have a feeling NT way of thinking is to popular in these forums.

Polyamory does not mean one man-multiple women.

Sure, we're still animals but that doesn't mean we operate like a pack of wolves. So tell me, if alpha/beta designations truly matter, what's the dualistic designation for women in this small animalistic world of yours?

 So very true. I think most people mistake any poly relationship for polygamy. Polygamy is not the only alternative relationship out there.

They sometime join the hunt. Some of them went looting mothercare and came out with a buggy full of goods others wa trying on trainers and sweetpants with their children. It was really kicking off in London Yesturday.

I tried to tell him that :) It's not all about the men. Most poly people I've met have been quite in favor of women's equality!
