I think this is true for most of the guys here as well...

Here we go with this ego and pride crap. WTF is so bad about admitting that you're single because no girl/women wants to go out with you and never will? It's never by choice. I'm 25 and I've come to terms with it. (kinda)

I've been rejected by cute girls, ugly girls, skinny girls, fat girls, white girls, black girls, Asian, etc. No matter what color, shape, or size, no women would ever want me.

The thing is, Grisha is being fairly objective about it. You're projecting your own situation.

I like this whole being a hermit in the desert thing, I might have to do that too. Although desert or beach, I'm not sure yet.

You don't have to choose: Baja California has them both! :D

I just need to decide: East Cape or Mulegé... :chin:

I wish we had deserts here. There are beaches, I could be a beach hermit.

There are more beaches than you can shake a stick at here. There is one just 50 metres away from where I sit, well it is a sort of estuary beach with a mud/silt bottom and sand fringing the shore.

Beach front property is ridiculously expensive here. A lot of the beaches along the coast are also off-limits for development. It's good and bad. Loads of beaches to visit, but very little beach front property... which is why it's expensive.

I'm probably going to end up in the valley. It's like the desert, but not as awesome.

^ THat sounds nice.

It is pretty middle class here though the next suburb to here is a poor one.

The house prices are ok here but a lot of that is because it is on the outskirts of town. Anyway it is not my house. I would rather live in the city.

What the f**k do I have to be POSITIVE about? My life have been sh** for the better part of the past 14 years. I don't have anything or anyone, aside from these stupid video games. I want you tell me what woman with any kind of standards would want a 25 year old ugly, slow, poor, and uneducated hermit that doesn't know how to do sh** right. I'll be waiting.

Errmm, don't you know you can change your life?

Learn to read books. Books can help you apply some knowledge, and then you can put forth the action into your life

Don't you know you can buy books so you can educate yourself?

Don't you know looks are subjective to a large extent? And even if you are ugly, can't you read about grooming so you can learn how to make yourself more attractive?

You can go out and go to a library, you can go to a gym, learn bodyweight exercises to make yourself feel more confident?

Put away the video games and go outside man. Anyone tells you you're stupid, tell them to f*** off or ignore them. Take up a martial art.

Find a purpose, figure out what it is you really want to do, and go for it. Take some free college seminars in anything you want.

DO SOMETHING!! !! !! !

(but read too)

Even though I knew what to expect from this topic, I'm still disappointed that it's not about flags or musical numbers. :)

I suppose a follow-up question on this thread would be: Is it OK to whine about being single if it's simply because you haven't met someone who is mutually attracted to you?

I always feel a little guilty for doing it, because I actually could be in a relationship if I chose to...

Is there anyone here who believes that no one would have them?

Having standards is fine.. as long as you don't whine about not being able to get anyone. Whine about not being able to get girls you WANT, but don't expect a lot of people here to sympathise ;) I'm the same. So I don't whine about being single - I don't have a right to.

A member here whines about how gross fat chicks are then makes threads about how no girls like him, for example.

I honestly don't see the difference. I think that everyone can find someone if they lower their expectations or change what they are looking for. I do not think a single person on this earth would be deemed completely un-dateable by the whole of the opposite sex.
It is just a thing of how much you want it and how bad you are willing to fight for it. We are all having the same problem, not finding someone with whom we feel a mutual attraction, and trying to figure out what we can do about it. So I am going to keep on whining about my self imposed singleness.

I've never understood why anyone would feel like they "had" to date someone they weren't attracted to. It's a terrible thing to do to a person (either feign interest or make it painfully clear that you'd rather be anywhere but on a date with them). I just can't imagine why anyone would put another person through that kind of pain and humiliation. Why would you want to entice someone to make an emotional investment in a relationship with you when that's precisely what you don't want? It just seems incredibly selfish to me.

There's nothing wrong with having standards. Pickiness is what'll make a better relationship if/when you do find someone with mutual attraction.

Just don't have any unrealistic expectations. That can kill a good thing very fast.

That's very noble of you Ms Bopp

I'm curious though: are there any guys out there that you like but won't have you?

Personally, there's at least one woman out there that could make me her boyfriend on demand (after I made an appropriate symbolic resistance of course ) - so maybe my "dateable" threshold is lower than yours?
