Well here's another anti-male shaming tactic: rationalizations.

Most women love bad boys (ex-cons, bikers, cocky extroverts...whatever), but these women also know that such a preference paints them in a negative light. So the rationalization is invented: "nice guys are just acting that way to get into my panties!" Thus, bad female behavior is excused by other women and by white knights. It may fool them, but it sure as hell doesn't fool me.

It truly is sickening that some women try to project their own issues onto innocent men...

Ex cons and bikers are gross as.

How is it not possible to be confident, not desperate, and interesting, without being a jerk?

Have a lot of interests. Develop a positive outlook on life and self confidence. To help this, you could
a) do well in your job
b) be good at your interests
c) take up relaxation sport such as yoga
d) search the web for people who relate to your interests
e) look into spirituality
f) Improve aspects of you appearance you don't like
g) get into the sun
h) Excersise your emotions away

Once you have a positive outlook in life, be friendly and respectful to those you don't know, male and female, have an air of self happiness about you achieved in my bullet points, talk to new people, talk about your interests, try new things, get to know work mates, make people laugh.

a "nice guy" is a way to dismiss someone who you are not attracted to. Since it is often the higher priority when it comes to attraction for men, a nice girl is often a bbw. It's not about nice-ness or the lack of it... it's about attraction.

There's what you like about a person(they recycle, their nice, their good with kids), and then there's what you are attracted to. Imagine what a nice person acts like, and then imagine that nice person looking 100 lbs overweight with, greasy skin, clothes 2 sizes too small, odd proportions, can't look someone in the eye, stutters, sweats excessively, etc. They may qualify all of the things you look for in terms of character, but unless you have an emotional connection to them or find them attractive, you probably won't notice them in that way.

I am often called a "nice guy" and a "sweetie". Here's the catch: I am not like that to people who are jerks.

People then assume they can step all over me, and then they are surprised to find out that I stand up for myself fiercely. And due to analysis and observation of them, I know exactly what to say to make them stop.

I actually like it because then people will underestimate my assertiveness. It makes actually being assertive more effective and fun.

This took me years to understand and implement (work in progress). One can be both assertive AND nice. Being assertive means you have boundaries, and that is healthy. Being assertive means you have a strong sense of self-worth. The nice part comes in when you must negotiate compromise. Without the nice, assertive becomes egotistical a**hole.
