Why there are so few good women comics is an old question.

I think it relates to sexual power. Women who can throw that away and sell themselves as the fool are able to do it. That's easy for men to do.

Yes, I like softly feminine women.

Yes, I like women who make me laugh.

Rita Rudner is the type of comic that fits both categories.

She's good-looking, too!

No, I would have thought that's a man's job, to be making the lady laugh. Laughter is linked with arousal so I'm told.

I'd love to find a girl who could make me laugh. Probably the longest standing crush I've ever had was on a chick whose best asset was her sense of humor. When we were together, we could banter back and forth for hours and it was awesome.

Most of the girls I've actually dated thought I was hilarious, but weren't really all that witty themselves.

In an actual relationship if you can't make each other laugh or loosen up you're in trouble. Just like if you're a man or woman and stuck wearing the pants and making the decisions in the relationship too one sidedly that's not really a relationship - more like a babysitting engagement with no pay.

I think what it is though, 'goofy' humor is likely quite difficult to perform and not break sexuality but banter, teasing, light-hearted or even oozingly warm sort of sarcasm, its really as available as there are ways for people to communicate or bolster their own feelings.

Its quite rare that a woman can make me laugh but whenever a woman has done, I feel more attracted to her then most women but its hard to find a woman who can actually deliver a joke well, my mother and sister are the only women that constantly make me laugh because they know how to do it.

This isn't the dark ages but most males still think that they must be the ones who are the funny ones, the one who wears the pants and stupid crap like that, its a load of BS in my opinion, I WANT a independent woman that can stand on her own two feet like me, I just can't see how most men are attracted to women who can't pull a funny or be independent, its just beyond me.

in response to a joke or card a that a man sends, i would make a simple response, like ''thanks, that made me laugh!'' and in future (not immediately after) if i saw something unrelated that he might find funny i would send it to him. it is very hard to follow a joke with another successful joke when it comes to cards and emails things like that. if you are bantering in person, the funniness builds as each of you carries it on, but it doesn't always work in other media.

This. ^^

Also, I do not like when people *try* to make me laugh. Humorous remarks and jokes should flow naturally. Otherwise, you come off as if you're trying to impress me. I don't like that one bit.

Wow, that sounded cheesy.

Sounds accurate even so.

If I went on a date with you, I think I might laugh.....

You know, cause I know you love to make people laugh..... :P

meh, why are chicks so wound up, they have no humour for their lover?

Going by some responses here it seems inappropriate for a women to make her man laugh :? :? :? :? :? :? why why why???

My aspish girlfriends were all quite funny. Thats what attracts me in the first place. With their humour was also intelligence, I think they may go together somewhat

Humour is the most preferred trait in a man, why not the other way around?

I wouldnt date a women who had no humour for me.

I would think shes caught up in some BS way of thinking or is boring and or selfish or so culturally programmed as to be a redundant option in a partner.

Hasn't Doris Day just released a new single? Good for her! Thats got to be a hoot

It's also interesting that so many female comics are lesbians. They are certainly heavily represented.

They may have less fear of appearing unattractive to men. They are willing to risk more.

I should go find myself a girlfriend, then. My humor bar is getting dangerously low....

Homogenaity's a truly depressing thing isn't it?
