While I personally like the poem, I have to agree with Boo. Unless you really know her well enough to know she wouldn't spread it around if she didn't appreciate the attention, it could backfire. If you just ask her out, it won't be as risky. She might still say no, but at least it wouldn't give her something tangible to "use" if she's that type.

I would have appreciated something like that when I was a teenager, but I'm not your average NT gal :)

Best of luck,
~Kate

It depends on the girl.

I had a crazy spectrumite musician girlfriend who really started juicing over all that written word stuff. She gave me poems all the time, and flowers

A bum poet from the park really turned her on....

I like all the poems in this thread. I would love it if men went back to writing poems, wearing medieval clothes and exchanging letters and flowers... I dont know if it is just me or not though. I guess robotic unicorns are the 21st Century answer to what Wordsworth or Shelley would write to their loves in the 19th Century.

So you think it's not creepy?

Let's see your reaction about this one:

My soul is born when Anna in the land.
My heart is cursed to rhythm like a band
Is she real or just a another dream
Another thought in my inside stream
Or maybe assuming too much beforehand
About things which I cannot demand.

Regardless of this, she's the princess
A Word from her holy mouth
And I promote her to a goddess
She is my flame, I am her moth
Set me afire to get her warmness.

NOW.....time to get the creep!!

Remember all you maidens
From the Isle of Dogs
Before you find a prince
You must kiss a lot of frogs

But that wont happen, because women love poetry. : )

Its an island near The River Thames in London :?

Its just a wee poem I found on the net that seemed to fit the occasion, re poetic princes versus frogs.

Why do women like poetry? Obviously you cannot speak for all women, but I guess it shows a level of passion and sincerity from the male? What if hes just writing poems to get in you pants?

my sillieness
Cant wait to see you again
our coversation is like an apartment bomb set by Menachmem Begin
explosive crazy, wont you join my supernova
we'll frolic and play in valleys and problems will solve em

Tell me what yall think

Uhh ... do you want the brutal, honest truth, or do you want me to post something to make you feel good?

Well, I dont really know, it is old fashioned and romantic and like living in a book. : ) . And poems dont need to be mushy or get in your pants type poems.

The OPs poem for example is a video-game/millenial type poem, and there are so many different types of poems, there is one to suit any type of person.

I received a poem on my birthday when I was 16, a guy wrote a poem for me. I still have that poem and I never forgot it. But, I kind of think perhaps that it is best to write a poem for a girl perhaps a few months after you start dating her, and perhaps play it cool as you are both getting to know each other.
