No. Controlling your ego and learning to deal with embarrassment would be far more effective.

...especially since "successful" PUA are expected to approach THOUSANDS of women every month to get a handful of phone numbers (which are mostly fake). and very few of those numbers lead to any actual sex or dating. so he'd better get used to rejection fast if that is going to be his approach.

i sometimes wonder.... if a man walked up to a thousand women a month and just said, "my name is _X_, will you have sex with me?" would he have about an equal success rate?

someone did a thesis on PUA - she infiltrated their ranks for months (her brother was a PUA).

I just don't understand why the entire thing is painted as really bad. I struggle to be honest. I see it as tools, and you can use it for good or bad, it's a pretty amoral practice IMO. I intend to use it for good anyway.....

Again, see above.

Still don't understand it. Well, I do, but still, I think it's fussing over something very trivial. I don't think there is anything wrong with PUA literature outside of some of the a**holes that choose to use it in the way that they do. It is certainly proving more useful for me in terms of improving my dating skills, and I haven't done anything negative to anyone.

I don't know.....

I only need to google for about ten seconds to find plenty wrong with it (though Hyperlexian pointed out that I must have a slow modem...)

Works for some people. I know a girl who found out her boyfriend was using it.

I have read it.

As a manual it borders upon worthless. Possibly even counterproductive. (Seriously, who the f**k wants to go out dressed in a dumb hat and an Ed Hardy shirt? At least buy some f****n Sean Jean or Joseph Abboud for the love of fashion and dignity!)

It is a fun read. I read it as a latter-day version of stuff like On the Road or Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas or even Huck Finn. It's a boyish book about irresponsible, unrestrained manhood written for a generation of men who rarely attain any semblance of manhood before the age of 25 or 30. It has a lot of hyper-masculine dreams of hyper-masculine fantasies that appeal to the 14 year old mind. And the ending is downright tragic and pathetic.

To my mind, especially for aspies, it represents just about the worst possible advice imaginable. Developing a mechanical approach to socialization and sexuality is so counter-productive it is unreal.

In a world of uncivilised women and over-civilised men Game gives men power over women. The kind of power that historically was enjoyed almost solely by women. That is why they hate it so vehemently. It's deliciously ironic that feminism has led us to this point. When you break things down, it is the only real power women ever had.

noooooo, historically men had power over women. it is such a peculiar argument you are making. we were bartered and sold like chattel, and even considered to be property (look to the devloping world for some examples of the kind of "power" women had in the past). feminism has only recently helped us become relatively equal to men.

if you are going to argue about which gender had power throughout history, or even argue about feminism, you really should get your facts straight. the results of academic research are only a click away.

it is good to see that you are finally coming clean about the fact that PUA actually seek to control and degrade women. you were playing pretend for so long before.

I wasn't talking about that kind of power, I was talking about the kind of power that led great men to folly at the whim of their wives. The power that has led men to wage wars for the sake of one woman. The power that drove men to create our entire civilisation was, arguably, entirely for the sake of women too.

Ah the apex fallacy rears its ugly head once again. So were men, fool.

Control is a harsh word, I prefer "civilise". To mold and shape them into decent citizens serving a greater purpose, that being humanity as a whole. I ask no less of men. By the way, I'm on track to becoming a politician.

that was a rather bold statement, not one I share. It's not a power game. Personal power is good, but any kind of dominion over another is not. I feel this is a distortion of what PUA is supposed to be. It is meant to help guys who are poor with women get better at being able to make themselves attractive to women, physically, verbally, mentally also. But it is a stepping stone. If your only goal of self-improvement is being attractive to women, and neglecting other areas of yourself you could improve, then it is counter-productive. This is what happens with PUA in my opinion. It's seen as a means to an end, rather than a long process of self-improvement that happens to include some stuff PUA teaches.

I don't know, maybe my brain is highly evolved enough to glean this stuff from it

Being sexually attractive is a form of power. People attracted to you go out of their way to please you and will forgive you many wrongs. It's just the way it is. Now most non-fat average to hot women are sexually attractive to men. They have that power just by being and they use it on a daily basis in many ways, everything from having some beta schlub carrying your shopping to raping a student and getting off with a slap on the wrist. The manosphere terminology would be "p**** pass".

A man who learns to be sexually attractive will find women go out of their way to please him, they will let him get away with just about anything (although that doesn't really work in the male dominated courtroom like it does for women) he now wields that same power (penis pass? :P).

PUArtistry is most definitely about gaining this kind of sexual power.
