Good point en_una_isla. I'm feeling increasingly dumb.

I have this interest in doing things anyway just to see how it turns out, in real life. Basically because life is one big practice-run for AS people, so in my mind I just do whatever without thinking too much.

The very worst scenario is that you'll end up killing yourself. So look on the bright side.

The most likely thing is that you'll get some and then end up broken hearted, and then have 3+ months of depression.

Well you should not go ahead and believe her 100%. You don't even know the "real'' her. People put on their best face when first dating. You won't know till about 3mos. into the relationship. Just assume it won't work out and you won't be dissappointed and if it does you will be pleasantly surprised. I base that on the fact that 50% of marriages fail, so it most be a fair guess that allot more dating relationships fail.

Litigious

That particular one was less than 24 carat. I would say I've met her, were it not for the atlantic ocean.

Still, it seems possible there may be others who are different. Not speaking from experience, just being theoretical.

I kind of doubt she means "boring" as in you'll give her lectures on quantum physics while in bed, but "boring" as in you won't cheat on her or be too spontaneous or wild. If that's the case, I could see how a woman could go for that.

Werbert's insight strikes again!

My guess is that she is coming out of a bad experience, or many bad experiences, with shallow, highly social (i.e. partying, drinking, clubbing, not exactly monogamous) type guys who cheated on her/ made excessive demands on her, or whatever, so now she is looking for someone who is (by such social judgements) "boring."

That is a sad story, litigious, about the lady who took her dog for a walk .

Scrapheap:

You're single now, right? And presumably feeling a bit fed up with it?

So what's the worst that can happen?

PROVIDED she's not a bunny-boiler, the worst that can happen is that in a couple of months you'll be single and a bit fed up again. In other words, no worse off. In actual fact, you'll also be wiser and will probably have had some fun in the process.

It's the "PROVIDED" bit we need to work on. Take your time. Get to know what she's really like. Maybe introduce her to some of your friends or family and see how she gets on with them. Afterwards you can ask them what they think of her, too.

Remember, this is a 'worst case' scenario. Things could turn out a whole lot better :)

Thanx for all the advice everyone. I'm going on another date with her tonight. this should tell me if she's dating for sport (uses guys to get free EXPENSIVE dinners) or if she's serious. She says she's a damn good cook. I hope I get to that point with her (along with "finishing the deal")

On the topic of boring, my cousin's GF's family told her to dump him (he has since dumped her). They said he was boring because he didn't go the the pub or the racecourse.

Hey Scrapheap, you're supposed to be aspie, not crazy. So you like looking at her and talking to her, and apparently she likes talking to you, and...your only concern is that the situation looks too good? That would make sense if you were buying a laundry mat, but I don't think it applies to meeting a woman.

Does it sound crazy that the situation looks too good?? We seem like Yin & Yang. I'm a quiet thoughtful introvert and she's a flirty extrovert. I want a woman who's fun and she want's a guy who's stable and won't hurt her. (she's been mentaly abused her whole life)

Hell, I was about to ask if she had a sister, but when I reread your post, I decided that wouldn't be a good idea. It seems entirely possible that she's playing straight with you, so until you see some reason to suspect she isn't, you might as well assume she is.

She has a younger sister who's married. Her mother sounds like she has many Narcissistic traits and her younger sister was the favored child (also Narcissistic)

Quote:
She can't help it if she's beautiful, if that's her only fault, maybe you can find it in your heart to forgive her. Not saying you should marry her tomorrow, but if you can't see any reason not to proceed, then you can't see any reason not to proceed.

I THINK I can forgive her for being beautiful.

She's had a Hysterectomy and can't have kids. Therefore I would'nt marry her even if the relationship goes the distance.

Yes, I was, I don't plan to marry her, but she might become a lifetime lover.

Is no else here offended that she basically called scrapheap "boring????" 8O On that alone I would run! I can't imagine saying to someone, "I like you, you're boring." Omg!! !

She did'nt DIRECTLY say I was boring. I said my family was boring compared to hers (hers is filled with narcissistic dram-prione types) to which she replied "But boring is good, boring is stable"

That's exactly what she was hinting at. She's been hurt so many times, she's just looking for someone supportive who won't hurt her emotionally.
