Why does society place so much importance on sex?

See, majority of conservative society believes that the media flooding the world with sexual messages is what makes society sexual. But the media only does that because they know we'll respond. But the overconcern of sex is an inhibition problem.

The trouble with the media latching onto anything is the dereasing reaction/increasing doseage thing. They have to keep making sexier commercials, and sexier TV shows. Otherwise the effect wears off. Missus Prof and I sat down one evening to watch a show called "Grey's Anatomy", the episode was hyped as an emergency in the hospital. Weeeeelll, we turned it off after the first five minutes featured the various character's sexual fantasies about each other. It was ridiculous, and waaayy over hyped. The expression "sex sells" is no longer true because of the over saturation. I see women wearing those low rise pants that barely clear the ummm, naughty bits. And it doesn't arouse me, it repulses me. I think, "why do you think you have to look like a total slut?"

Agreed. A lot of the time I think women who aren't falling out of their clothes are are far more attractive than those who think that clothes are merely a method of just about covering up their no-no place. The latter just look... well... icky, to be honest, and not really an incentive to follow along in line with the rest of the idiots.

And tatoos. Yuck. Never seens one that makes me think, wow cute. Never. Guess they remind me of my obnoxious uncle who had served in the navy. Then again, I've seen ladies with tatoos where I thought, oh poor thing, nasty bruise. Yuck-o.

Not SEXY.

Depends on the tattoo. I've seen a few nice tattoos on women, some of them can be quite feminine. I don't like it when people go overboard with tattoos, though. A little one on the back, belly or arm is ok.

Agree with you there. Whenever I see one on an attractive female, I inevitably think something along the lines of, "Look at all that beautiful skin she has disfigured."

Well, competitiveness in itself doesn't mean putting down others. That's the sort of competitiveness which makes one a loser.

I know, I'm being pedantic...

Yeah. Some tattoos can actually be pretty sexy. I do have a size and location limit, though - like you say, the belly, the back or the arm is the best place for them, and they shouldn't be overwhelmingly large, either, or the cuteness factor is lost.

Ok, maybe a butterfly near the naughty bits. Or somesuch thing. But most of the tatoos I see women wearing look like they stole it off a truck driver. Maybe it's a Southwest thing.
