What Okcupid has taught me about the area I live in

Man, I was born in the wrong state... I myself am Christian, but I'm also sort of trapped between worlds. I'm fine dating an agnostic, but not a militant athiest (or anyone that seeks to convert me out of my own beliefs). I basically go by a live and let live policy with regards to that. However, I also am quite liberal for a christian (though moderate overall); Although I think abortion is wrong, I also think trying to impose my will on others is also wrong, and am thus pro-choice. If all a christian needed from a partner is someone who believed in Jesus, and perhaps some of the core family values, I'd easily fit the bill. But what makes these conservative christians isn't their Christianity, but the fact that they're freaking conservatives...


yes indeed. I'm not sure you would find this area to your liking however. Most of the people here aren't Christians as you describe... but more the 'Obama-Hatin', Gun Totin', kill em all and let Jesus sort em out" kind of Christians. Personally to me I'd probably be happy with a liberal Christian, since I'm an Agnostic, but I'd prefer another agnostic. Militant Atheists are strictly off limits also, and we have our share of them.. and they are often extremely obnoxious due simply because they crank up the passive aggressiveness due to having to deal with all the Conservative Christians. There is a difference between a Joel Olsteen Christian and a John Hagee Christian.. and we have a lot of the latter and not as many of the former.

I'm not. I'm actually pretty close to the University of Georgia.

I mean the only part of the US I've ever really felt like I fit in was on the west coast. but moving is scary and expensive especially when you have no marketable skills to fall back on. The East Coast in general is just less friendly in my experience.. regardless of all that bluster about the south being friendly.. it isn't.. especially if you are different and then it can be downright hostile.

Why the other fake profile keeps getting initial messages and get fast replies :)?

Why do you think I got almost zero messages when my photo was up?

Why the other fake profile keeps getting initial messages and get fast replies :)?

if they mostly cared about looks then they would not talk to you without seeing your picture first. this way they are getting to know your personality without even seeing you, and they would not go to that trouble if looks were that important.

and i think you probably got almost zero messages because your pictures were not good in terms of the recommendations. if i recall correctly, you didn't follow any of the photography advice on the OKC blog.

overall, they aren't as looks based as men. some women care about looks to some degree or another, and those women would want to see good pictures as recommended by OKC. other women are less interested in looks and care to get to know a man's personality mpst of all. those women don't care if a guy posts a picture.

most men cover their bases by having good photographs and also a good profile. but removing the pictures entirely works as a strategy to eliminate the more visual females.
