Is being successful in love too much to ask?
In general, I'd like to be a successful person, but as in this case it seems to be restricted to success at a line of work, I'd rather have love.

Originally, yes, but now I'd rather have the balance shifted somewhat.

I choose success, having success can make finding love a bit easier than having love and looking for success.

Success. I am in no way materialistic, but I do hope that I can acquire a job one day that allows me to live a life where I do not need to worry about money, in the sense that I can pursue my interests and still have enough food, toom and time.

Whilst one might think so, I'm afraid that the anecdotal evidence isn't with you.

Success is subjective and dependent on the person, the American dream or reaching the pinnacle of capitalism isn't something everyone strives for. Many people from Eastern traditions spend their lives letting go of attachments and freeing themselves from possessions. For some, letting go and enjoying the simple things in life is true success. To assume that success is the pinnacle of capitalism and that everyone strives for that is wrong.

At the moment I have neither.

Like most people replying to this thread I would prefer love. The joy from work success would fade quickly when arriving home to an empty house without anyone to share it with.

Uh huh.

What use is success of, if you don't have anyone with whom to share it?

I agree, if I could achieve this, I would truly call myself a success.
