I think a lot of aspies have what I call "computer faces" when using the Internet or gadgets.
It's where we pull a really stupid face when we focus on it which other people don't and others find it really weird or funny or think we're being really serious / obsessive about what it is we are engaging in. I don't know how to shake this face for the cameras unless I behave completely stupid or they sneak a shot of me.

Yes i do wonder atleast once every 10 minutes. From what ive heard and overheard im aparently cute and handsome. Which is womanspeak for "im not going to throw up if i see him but im not planing on it either"

Haha, I'm familiar with that.

My current profile picture is a horrible one, but the only one I have with a hat. Then again, I'll look for the one where I have a Norway-themed baseball cap. Might look a bit better, although it was taken with the same godawful webcam, and my hair is much longer than it is now. I can't find the cables for any other devices, even though they're full of photos. Curse my lazy, chaotic mind.

Could you clarify this?

Is it "only" when using the internet or gadgets, or is it all the time for shots, but resembles something else? is it making a face most NTs make when THEY focus on something?

I want to agree with you, because that sounds somewhat reasoned, but I don't understand well enough to be comfortable doing so :p

Dude, you're so right! I think it's adorable, personally. I love the wide-eyed look of being obsessed; it's so cute.

It seems to me that the majority of people on here have a low opinion of the way they look (including myself). I know that feel, bros.

Blank but extremely interested. I see it all the time on my lover's face when he's busy doing stuff. I would post a picture, but I'm not going to do that without his permission.

Well, opinions as such are based on the results gathered from previous experiences. While not true for everyone it is true for most here.

True. Or, they are never complimented or flirted with (or aren't aware of it), so they believe they are unattractive.

I think that falls under my blanket, but theres also those who have tons of attention and they know they are getting it yet still think theyre ugly/fat/etc.

Thanks for the clarification ^_^

I'm not sure if I have that face.. When I'm interested in something, or confused by something, I tilt my head to the side, and keep the same expression. Maybe I do, and it's just my "normal" expression?

I find that when I smile for pictures, the only thing smiling is my mouth, and it looks awkward : /

That would be a fake smile. I know all about those, lol.

Probably. If you're really interested in something, chances are that it's very obvious to others. It's just like "in another world" look or "far away."

Hmm... I'll have to ask around and find that out! I'd be interested to know how obvious my mindset is to others.. I did ask my BF at one point if it was really difficult to read me, and he said "not as much as you seem to think, no." so you may very well be on to something!

I have a lot of trouble reading anything but basic emotions from people's faces (anger, happiness, sadness, amusement, and what I consider "relaxed" but others might call blank, For example, I can't tell the difference between anger and frustration, so when someone near me is frustrated, I walk on eggshells to avoid having the anger turned on me.) and when I want someone to know my emotions, I tend to exaggerate them a bit (I have some very odd, expressive facial contortions :D )

Why wouldn't we? When we get no POSITIVE feedback and plenty of "loser" comments from the "popular kids" (and those gangs still exist through the working world and into retirement!) it's easy to start to believe those comments.

After all - if we were attractive, wouldn't we be getting the same positive attention the douchebags are getting? :(

I've been called a pretty-boy and nobody calls me ugly (I don't THINK I am...) but I get little or no attention either.
OKCupid said my pic was rated one of the highest in polls, yet nobody messages me.
