A friend of a friend married a Filipino woman, (out of love), but her family expected him to take care of all her financial matters (and help the family out, as well, I believe). If she'll marry you, no questions asked, there must be a catch.

IMOO, it would depend on where a foreign woman is from.

Personally, I would love to date a woman who is from:

-Canada

-Spain

-Portugal

-England

-Ireland

-Australia

-New Zealand

-Scotland

for starters if she doesnt speak the same language and derrivation of the language as you then tough luck son.

Do you seriously believe that no Russian women care about love, or that American girls who chase after prancing pretty boys who party hard every weekend and get an expensive car from daddy would fall for these guys if it weren't for entirely superficial reasons or media brainwashing?



In some countries, there's a shortage of men. Latvia is a good example of this (women in Latvia are far from as passive as the women in USA or Western-Europe).

I can't speak on behalf of Americans, but most Russian or Fillipino women who end up in Scandinavia, typically has a master's degree that would probably give her a decent salary in Russia as well. One thai woman who was married to a Norwegian man still stood by him after he ended up on disability, which here in Norway is to little to get a mortgage or own a car.

You're confusing this practice with mailorder brides. Most developed countries today won't even approve of a marriage unless both parts can prove that it's simply not a charade to get a green card.

I'll never consider marrying someone from a developing country (a very small risk that she's after my money is still a risk), but I'm not judging the ones who do. Here in Norway, single girls today stop caring about their looks after 20; they get a low-maintenance haircut, wear gym slacks instead of jeans and gain 50 lbs.

divorce rates are lower in the types of relationships where women do not have equal power, either in the context of economic status or social status. this is the case when a woman is isolated from her family and home culture and not allowed to have equal employment opportunities. they tend to stick around when they perceive they have no other choice. low divorce rate != higher levels of happiness by default

I wouldn't mind settling down with a chinese japanese korean vietnamese or filipina woman. Not only are they beautiful and intelligent but their very family oriented and I admire that.

Eastern-European engineers generally have no problems getting jobs here in Norway. In fact, many Norwegian oil and gas companies import engineers from Eastern-Europe because of the shortage of engineers here in Norway.

Why do you say that? Sounds like a pretty big generalization to me. My girlfriend is Filipino. We didn't just start a serious relationship, no questions asked.
