Yes...because behedding people for complaining about a lack of food is such a great bit of freedom. Then again, maybe you are referring to Robespierre trying to implement a metric calender (that mathematically didn't work...)? The "Universal Rights of Man" only really applied to those who agreed with the revolutionaries. All others were shaved by the national razor. Then again, it didn't really last all that long before the idea of a republic was replaced by a dictator...err...emperor-Napoleon Bonaparte. In many ways then, the French Revolution was little different from what the Bolsheviks did in Russia. Then again, the Europeans never did have a good grasp on the whole idea of personal liberty.
Oh well... the french recolution didn't go all that well ifor Framcebut it was still a very important event that changed the status quo, and showed the world there was an alternative to monarchy that kings weren't invulnerable, and it brought change. Bloody change, but it was change nonetheless. Colombia, for example, when Nariño translated the Universal Rights of Man and gave copies away, it made the people aware of what they could be,mif only they got away from Spanish rule.

Try relocating to multicultural cities like New York or Chicago where there are lots of tourists or immigrants. I'm used to seeing people from all over the world so I guess I feel pretty indifferent about them nor do I feel sexual attraction to a particular group of people.
Good luck!

If you are an American male and you like European women, you need to go work in a Hostel somewhere, perhaps in a Tourist hotspot like New York City.
As a European woman in the US, I wouldn't recommend working in the tourist business unless you are looking for one-night-stands... And even then... Ever since I arrived in the US, I have been more cautious about meeting new guys, especially when they are not from Western Europe. I have traveled all over the country and I must admit that it feels creepy whenever the staff of a hotel or hostel tries to flirt with me... I would never give in to that!
If you are looking for a relationship with a Western European girl (England, France, Netherlands, Belgium, etc...), I would recommend to start working in the international office of a college or university or become involved with activities organized for international students. This provides a more safe environment for meeting people, since international students are on their own in the beginning anyway (I know this from first-hand experience!) and therefore they are more willing to open up to people during such activities. Everybody is looking for friends there and sometimes that progresses into something more.
