Hm... I don't think I'd classify anyone here as a bully. Bullying is what I've seen on some other forums, where people go after you by stalking your posts and/or PMing you just to be insulting. I don't always like the tone of the conversations here, because I don't like confrontation, but the easiest solution to that is to just stay away from those threads, or duck out if it gets too heated. Let those who enjoy those types of debate have at it among themselves. There seem to be some here who are a tad less aggressive, so just talk to us instead

Here we go again. It's been observed that generally, not in all cases but in a large majority, status is the most important thing for women selecting a partner, along with physical dominance. It's true for most women. Statistically speaking, eight or nine out of ten women claiming to have theoretical criteria here would go primarily for status. It may sound a bit rude if I'm telling women what they find most important, but these are simply findings from research that apply to a large majority of women.
The research also included a summary saying women's practical preferences rarely matched their theoretical preferences. The theoretical preferences mentioned here were very common in women who went primarily for status. That is, most female test subjects.
I wasn't saying it's a flaw or a problem. It's a truth. I can't change the truth - women generally preferring status and physical dominance over everything despite their claims to the contrary - so it's not worth complaining about. I'll just work out and try to earn a lot of money so the prostitutes I'll be stuck with aren't that offended by my physical build or appearance.
Indeed, the same subject showed a similar trend for men. Although they were slightly more inclined to speak the truth, many of them did not accurately identify their own practical desires when outlining their theoretical desires. Where women said they wanted a giant list of personality traits but tended to prefer status and dominance, men said they wanted a giant list of personality traits but tended to prefer physically-attractive women.
I have to kinda agree. WP even in its two warzones is very tame. If its a persons only internet forum they may be very surprised on different ones.
Most busy internet forums and chat rooms are full of "epic hate" especially when compared to WP.

Ok well then I have nothing in common with most women I suppose....I mean yeah I do find it rude if you insist status is the most important thing for me because I am a female. Now generally speaking there could be something to that theory, but then it can be debated as to if its more of a social construct of what women are supposed to want...that some internalize without realizing it and act on...or whether it's some sort of biological thing or what it means. My main point is statistical research can be useful but what is found in it typically does not apply to everyone and it can be flawed depending on quite a few factors.
I mean theoratically I don't give a damn about status....and realistically I don't either I mean there are so many more important things especially when it comes to a relationship. In my opinion anyways.

Right then, so the point being humans are all very shallow with very little depth to them for the most part I suppose. Oh well, such is the way of things but whoever created the experiment that is humanity ought to be slapped.

Sweetleaf - who said one single word about women beying driven by shallow things? About better gender? This is called projection. Study it, it helps a lot http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_projection
I thought projection is when you project your own shortcomings onto others to blame them so that doesn't make sense to me....And it was said women care about status and dominance above all else, to me that is shallow thus being driven by shallow things.
And I don't believe in a better gender so what would I be projecting there?
It's called don't make assumptions you can't back up because you think...if I say I dont care about those things I must be lying or in denial. I think I know my mind a little better than you do

Reality, unfortunately, is that most humans are very shallow, and basic urges persist even in the less shallow minority.

And why are you so convinced the want for status and dominance is some biological basic urge all women have...rather than some social construct? I mean if I am not mistaking I thought greed was a trait men and women can have not a specific feature of women. As for guys going for looks well I know that is not the most important thing to every male, and also its not specifically just males who place a lot of importance on that.......lots of females do as well.

Because it happens across cultures, and across species.
Not all, but most. In men, the most attractive body types are those that imply status. Muscles, fashionable clothes.
Projection has many forms. One of them is paranoia. (or vice versa)
You see words that are not written here. Why? Maybe you are afraid of ... shame of beying considered lower, not as good as others = males, beying shallow. I do not want to guess, because as you pointed out I do not know you. I only see classical projection/paranoia pattern, which is the defensive mechanism of your ego against...?

Do you get what HisDivineMajesty writes about how psychical experiments are made? You cannot simply ask someone "what drives you towards men" "would you torture this guy?". No way. It is only your conscious mind who is answering. But as I said before, your soul consists of 2, Freud says 3 parts. Conscious and unconscious. Id, ego, superego. You can "see" or "control" only single part of them. But your acts are the result of them all. And our acts matters, not so?
Thats why scientists ask you what you think and then observe what you really do.
Your answer = consious mind.
Your act = c+u mind.
Difference between act and answer = unconscious mind.
Now, you maybe think that nobody sees in your head better than you do. Why people go to see their psychologists then?
So.. I know your mind even better than you do in a sense. And vice versa

Not to mention across genders....so it could be biological but its not a strictly a male or female thing it applies to both.

At least you acknowledge it's not all males or all females.

Can't say I am much into Freudian psychology as it's a bit on the outdated side. Also I do not think i was projecting at all, or that paranoia is actually projecting. It would make more sense that paranoia could come more from internalizing things other people did or said, not projecting things you would do or say.

The way you're saying that almost makes it look like I didn't specify that from the very beginning.
I guess it did kind of appear that way....I guess i suck at reading as usual.

Gently said: it does not matter what you think. Click on that link, read facts, don't argue with science because "you think". I think is not an argument. In this case it is more an excuse ![]()
