With or Without You makes much more sense then Sk8er Boi.

That is my outlook on relationships as well....if I get into one, great but if not, it's not the end of the world...as it means I have my (limited) freedom.

If you want a good sad song about romance try Vermilion by SLipknot...really sad lyrics and great composition to the music without autotuned vocals.
