I would agree with trying online. I just recently signed up for okcupid and I think it is very cool. I have yet to go out with anyone yet, but the opportunities are certainly there. I would say I am getting messages from interested females at a decent rate. It is especially good for filtering out undesirables and finding commonalities. Something I have realized is that the cool girls in university are on okcupid, and not on campus waiting for you to make a move. Give it a try. Just sign up, fill out your profile and answer a bunch of their questions that help determine compatibility.

There's usually a social tragedy behind the resulting situation that ended up in prison. I would stay away from such venues.

Why? You seem jealous/bitter and want to take it out on me. Just because it didn't work out for you, don't discourage others from trying it out.
