I think the reason for this thread is that without a person either putting a photo on their profile or explicitly stating that they are female, it's not always easy to work out a person's gender and with a lot of the males on this form looking for partners, they want to know which posters are a) female and b) living near them. So a more accurate thread title would have been 'Are there any hot young female aspies on here who live near me and don't cringe at the use of the word 'chick'?' This is what the poster wanted to know basically.

Am I right or am I right?

Not 100% correct, but you have an accurate idea.

I asked as I rarely see UK woman on this forum (or even in any forum I go to!)

I am not specifically asking for "Hot young females" since I have talked to many woman who are older and not exactly hot but intelligent woman in general!

I'm not specifically asking because I want to date any woman in particular...but I am interested if there are any in the UK and live near my area to see if we can get on really!

I am looking more for friendship then a relationship since I don't seem to do very well in that area for various reasons (nothing that bad really, just things like being too obsessive and stuff). It's nice to hear that there are UK woman here and I am happy that there are some even if there's only one here from Manchester!

But why do they need to live near you to 'get on'?

You can have a conversation online wherever a person lives

No, you want to meet women to see what they look like and have a relationship if possible - it's better to be honest

Well yeah, but I talk to people from all corners of the globe. :P

Friendships are easier by physically seeing them also, so not just relationships.

I am being honest, I can talk to people online, that's not a problem...but I would like to see people too to have a better friendship bond since online usually doesn't work.

Try the 'Regional Meetup & Networking Thread' then:-

http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt188762.html

and here's an idea - arrange a meetup yourself if there isn't one near you!

Fair enough, but I am not exactly great at getting out myself. :(

@FoB: Not complaining at all, I asked a question, and the majority answered. Mission accomplished...but again....people see an ulterior motive when there is none...which seems to be the norm with people with Aspergers.

Oh I thought you were a friendly sociable outgoing type person - that is the persona you are projecting plus you said you wanted to meet people - another outgoing feature

I saw two people on that thread I sent asking about a Manchester meetup

If you organise a meetup you get to choose the venue and what you do

You sound easy going enough to be a good host too

I really appreciate your compliment but unfortunately I am an extreme introvert.

Would be nice to check out, so I thank you in advance for showing me that thread!

True, but with my lack of direction with meet ups, it'd probably end up horribly, lol.

I can be easy going, but not a great host.

The irony of it all is that it seems most of the women who think I'm cute are either from Canada or the UK when it comes to WP if Iwere to visit the UK and offer hugs I wonder what would happen? :chin:

Oh well

Perhaps you could assist someone else to organise a meetup then or a group of people could
all take equal parts in setting one up?

Meetups seem to be more common down in London from the looks of things

Maybe? I am not exactly dominant in things in general.

True...and I didn't like London from experience. :(

Well I'd make sure the person wanted the hug or didn't have a partner in tow or you could easily end up in hospital!

A lot of people in the UK can be exceedingly violent these days!

I've been on meetups through that site in the past and organised one myself

Not an experience I'm in a hurry to repeat I might add!
