Yes, I decided not to send it to her. I think I'll wait to see where things go.... if things don't work out (as bad as this sounds) I can at least use the gift myself or give it to someone else (it was a gift card).

You did not follow my advice. Did you find a problem with my logic, or did you simply decide to act irrationally? Seriously- I want to know for my own understanding.
