Recently, I've been messaging a girl on OKCupid and I got as far getting her e-mail address and attempting to organize a date. However, I e-mailed her on Sunday and I'm yet to receive a reply.

I've managed to communicate in the style that Boo described, but I think I came aware of what happened, that she showed interest and then I lost control of the conversation. Almost like I woke up in the middle of it and lost my queue. But one particular woman kind of likes me for me, it is just the strangest thing. I'm not perfect in her eyes but she isn't interested in any material things I have or do. Probably that I have a work which I gather from her list of what she wants. This is a question that I asked.

To Jono, well in Jhb you have more options than I have. The only big enough dating pool here are people in their 20s. The next option is to open up to more ethnic since my ethnic is a minority in this country. I have only heard from 2 women. I figure they must be too scared or think I want to test run how it is to be with a different ethnic and sort of just use them. I don't know what is going through their minds. maybe it is just some apartheid stigma BS. or my message is just too weird for them.

I'm not sure that I have that many options. Most of the girls from the Johannesburg area on OKCupid aren't good matches for me.

It's a typical female attitude on okcupid - got used to it. Or at least, this how they try to appear.

"I am men's gift of the world, I am very precious".

But in reality they are no more than ordinary people.

I've met that girl today, she is an ordinary person.

well ok i wouldnt stop replying, but it would turn me off. I typically get pretty far compared to most here...i get quite a few numbers on okcupid..or i did when i tried, but after a day or two they quit talking to me for no reason.

I boosted her ego in my first message, so I am partly to be blamed.

Besides, it was obviously just teasing.

But yea, single females often would portray themselves as a great catch in the sea - no one can help it, it's hard wired in their genes.

The "every woman wants to be treated like a princess" didn't come from nowhere.
