I would imagine that if you mentioned it in your profile, it would be because you really like it. I wouldn't think somebody would mention shows they just watch if they happen to be home when they are on. I'd think that if you mention it in a dating profile you should have seen a lot of it and probably even have the DVD's.
If I were single and some guy messaged me with a Highlander reference I would be all over that conversation and probably be friends with him even if we never dated.
